It went okay, but they found five more little tumours when they did the MRI. So seven of the little bastards altogether. That meant that I was in the head brace and in the machine for much much longer than anticipated, I was bloody knackered. I've had more fun on my back!

MissConductUS · 08/02/2024 21:08

Tillly, so sorry to hear about the MRI results. Have you talked to your oncologist about treatment options?

Well done on the down coat and wedding reception dress, Math. We're expecting that same warm weather here shortly.

I just saw the charge for DD's car battery replacement. It was a bit higher than I expected, so she sent me a picture of the receipt. They changed the oil too, so that's fine.

Tillly, you are dangerously close to veering off the "boring and mundane" rule of the thread. The administrator may bring sanctions if you're not careful. 🙀🤣🩷

Glad you are out of the head brace now. Shitty more tumours have been found. I hope your oncologist has something promising to say. 🤞🩷

Math, unseasonably warm isn't it? Hope the storm skips your area. Good deal on the coat and dress!
Whyyy, toddlers keep us on our toes, don't they.

Just had a moment of mayhem here. Both toddler and baby screaming. Toddler for cartoons (I turned tv off); and baby to be fed.
🤦‍♀️

Mumtobabyhavoc · 08/02/2024 21:20

I am singing "meow" at Havoc now.
Havoc: Don't singing. Don't singing.
I may have to go back to caffeine coffee. ☕️

Penguinsa · 08/02/2024 21:31

Sorry you had the secret seven hiding in your head Tilllly hope they are well and truly zapped now and they gave you extra food.

Good luck with the 2 Havocs Havoc, hope peace is restored soon. I remember we used to get both settled in the early hours, lie down exhausted then the cat would start charging round playing mousey very loudly.

I have had messages from endo nurse about my next test, keeping 48 hours of urine in containers, lovely. Ordered containers and labels are being posted.

I watched all of NYAD and then slept a lot today. Just had homemade cottage pie for dinner and having a hot milk and honey. Washing is on.

Tilllly · 08/02/2024 23:31

Ok I'll cave

What's NYAD?

Penguinsa · 08/02/2024 23:46

Nyad is on Netflix, film about a woman in her 60s who open swims from Cuba to the US.

MallardsMoorhensAndLethe · 09/02/2024 01:45

Glad the car is all sorted MissC.

Damn, I don't have Netflix Penguinsa, that sounds interesting.

Sorry about your tumours Tilllly. Fingers crossed for you.

Congratulations on your bargains Math. I love bargains too.

I've been breaking up a literal cat fight.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 09/02/2024 03:27

It's was a chilly day. Took Havoc to dentist then to the park. After playing on the slide and climbing we ran around the soccer field and Havoc and another toddler kicked around a soccer ball together. Got home and decided on pizza for dinner! (Pesto, crab, mushrooms, spinach and 4 cheeses).

MissConductUS · 09/02/2024 21:03

Havoc, the "don't singing" bit made me laugh. I remember those days, when they discover the power of "no". Your pizza looks fab. We're having pizza tonight, too, but just pepperoni and bacon.

DD's car wouldn't start again this morning, so she had campus security jump-start it, and she drove it back to the garage where the new battery was installed yesterday. I assumed that either the alternator failed or they sold her a dodgy battery. It turned out that she had somehow left the dome light on overnight and drained the battery. They got her started, and she drove straight home from there. So she's back, and the car appears to be okay.

Oh yum Havoc.
Penguinsa your DD sounds really focused and on the ball. Sounds like DS had a lovely, relaxing time getting clean!
DS is going to apply for medicine but I am concerned he is a little laid back. Mock AS levels were a mixed bag - he worked but not enough. He is applying for a summer school in Cardiff run by a trust for potential medical students and has had to write some supporting statements. They are ok.
I have had a busy evening - we had a home game due to Six Nations tomorrow so couldn't play on our usual Saturday afternoon. I cooked chilli for 60, and a visit from environmental health on a routine grading. We are hoping for a top score as he was happy with our knowledge and procedures. Luckily I was off work today.

Tilllly · 10/02/2024 00:21

I've rested a lot and done lots of little bits from my to do list

Mumtobabyhavoc · 10/02/2024 02:25

Are you back home then, Tillly? Feeling ok?

Left-over pizza warming in the oven; Havoc had left-over lamb in tomato sauce with mashed potatoes and peach slices for dessert. Got Havoc a haircut earlier.

Tilllly · 10/02/2024 03:35

In my own bed ☺️

Bit feeble but otherwise good 👍

Mumtobabyhavoc · 10/02/2024 04:29

It's always better to have the comforts of home . 😄

Tilllly · 10/02/2024 04:46

And no alarms beeping

sproutsandparsnips · 10/02/2024 10:52

So sorry Tillly I didn't ask how you were! Glad you're home in your own bed.

Tilllly · 10/02/2024 11:28

You mean I'm not the main thought in your head all day @sproutsandparsnips
You have a life?

Outrageous

sproutsandparsnips · 10/02/2024 12:00

But I did mean to when I started typing and by the end I'd forgotten! Blush

I'm the same, I think thoughts are falling out of my ears or something

Tilllly · 10/02/2024 15:10

She thinks that's another puppy

Glad you're home Tilllly and hope it's quieter than the hospital.

I applied neem oil to my plants again just to be sure the mites' life cycle is well and truly interrupted. This time I sprayed the oil onto a paper towel and wiped each leaf with it. That tactic worked a bit better than spraying but the oil is still stinky. If I had planned it better I would have worked my way up from the lower leaves and avoided getting neem oil in my hair.

I made bread this morning - well, the bread machine made dough and then I baked it. The apartment smelled really nice and the oven heated up the normally chilly kitchen. Dcat joined me for my cup of tea there and demanded her usual tribute of a tiny smear of butter from my fingertip.

DD baked a 'Depression Cake' last evening - a recipe apparently popular during the 1930s. It turned out really well - a good chocolatey flavour with quite a fudgy texture. There's too much for the two of us so she's going to give half of it to a friend.

Penguinsa · 10/02/2024 22:36

Thanks Sprouts Medicine sounds like a great plan.

Lovely puppy Tilllly glad you are home.

Lovely pizza Havoc

Homemade bread sounds great Math

Glad car OK MissC

Hope no more cat fights Mallards

Watched the Swimmers on Netflix which was excellent. Yesterday evening collected things, IKEA dragon doormat, took things for recycling, new toaster, and fluffy sheet.

Went to Kew Gardens today for their orchid festival, we were very lucky to get a car parking space just right outside Elizabeth Gate. Went to see orchid display, another greenhouse, walk round, walkway and then had dinner with DH at the Toby cavery and brought takeaway roast dinners from there for DD (veggie) and DS (turkey and gammon). Came back did quick tidy of kitchen had a bath and came to bed. DD was due to work today but cancelled as the river is flooded.

Apparently Daisy go night nights doesn’t mean stay in your bed and go to sleep, as I thought
It means jump out of bed and bark at shadows then run round the room

Penguinsa · 11/02/2024 00:10

Sounds like a good friend for Floof though would be trilling and leaping.
