Hope it was just a random, Miss. 😬
Good swim despite feeling like you've caught a bug, Penguinsa. 👏
Like you need anything else to deal with... Hoping for an easy resolution for your itchiness, Tilly. 🤞

Popped out to Costco to do a quick shop just before closing at 6pm. Salmon and roast potatoes for dinner with sour cream and cottage cheese on the side. Seasoned salmon and potatoes with salt, garlic powder and Chinese 5 spice. Nibbled on strawberries and fresh pineapple before dinner. Have got carrot cake mini cakes for dessert (very large cupcakes, really).
Have got the Grammy awards on tv. Was very moved by Tracy Chapman's and Joni Mitchell's performances. 🥹

@Penguinsa
No I don't think so - am on these? Don't think they're Pax?
Seems to have lessened, wonder if it's unrelated? And it comes and goes
Or connected to the chest pain - which having convinced myself is the cancer spreading to the bone, as great speed, sounds more like

www.nhs.uk/conditions/costochondritis/#:~:text=Costochondritis%20is%20inflammation%20where%20your,on%20its%20own%20over%20time.

Honestly, this attention to my health bores me, every day I'm thinking about something health related, I used to just take it for granted

Tilllly · 05/02/2024 04:54

@Mumtobabyhavoc I'm coming to your house for tea!

@Penguinsa 100 lengths...!?🤯

Penguinsa · 05/02/2024 05:06

No that's not Pax Tilllly different chemo though it does have neuropathy listed as side effect but don't know about that chemo, I had Pax. I was given a choice of 6 or so but your one wasn't on my lovely chemo selection menu. 😂I much prefer Havoc's menu.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 05/02/2024 06:56

Tilly, Penguinsa. Will have dinner waiting for you anytime! 😊

Tilllly · 05/02/2024 08:32

I'm sure Pax is an Ikea range...!

Penguinsa · 05/02/2024 09:32

Sounds great Havoc Will be round with another 1 year old soon, a rather fluffy one.

IKEA range sounds much more preferable Tilllly will go for that next time.

Deathraystare · 05/02/2024 19:09

@Mumtobabyhavoc
Right! Round to yours for din-dins but please! No Cottage cheese! Tis the Devil's work.

Deathraystare · 05/02/2024 19:19

@HelenaJustina

Hope things are better for you and your child is over the vomitting bug. How horrible!

mathanxiety · 05/02/2024 22:50

MissC I hope there isn't a nest of mice in your DD's car. There is a certain type of soy based coating on wiring in some engines, which rodents perceive as food, and proceed accordingly. They can do a good deal of damage.

Helena there are few things worse than a D&V bug making its way through a home. I hope you're all ok.
It's Catholic Schools week in my diocese - always prime time for horrible illnesses. My DCs' elementary school used to go on an all school outing to celebrate and invariably someone threw up on the buses either going or returning. On my youngest DDs last outing, she was the culprit. Oh the shame... And then the laundry...

I discovered a spider mite infestation among my deck plants that were wintering over in the dining room, and bought neem oil to tackle it. It stinks, but it seems to have done the trick.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 05/02/2024 23:04

Death, I def eat cottage cheese a lot...
y'know protein, calcium and all that. I really like it with blueberries or fresh pineapple, too. 🤷‍♀️

Just got back from GP follow-up appt for baby. Was really impressed that GP office called on Friday for in-person appt for today. Things are still looking good.

Having a cup of tea and have eaten 5 Fudgee-o cookies and two York peppermint patties. Lunch was cheese melted in a croissant in the microwave. Both dc are asleep on separate couches and I'm watching a doc about Martha Stewart. I really should nap, though. 🥱

Mumtobabyhavoc · 05/02/2024 23:07

Interesting tidbit about mice, Math. 🤓

MallardsMoorhensAndLethe · 06/02/2024 01:25

Mice in cars is a thing?! 😳. Neem oil makes me want to vomit, I'd have to put up with the infestation Math. Kudos to you for tolerating the stinky stuff.

Glad all is going well Havoc.

Those little tufty ears Penguinsa 😻.

Get well soon Helena and family.

I've been watching inspirational YouTube and dealing with parcels (some clothes and a beauty box). Need to get my life together.

HildaTablet · 06/02/2024 09:34

@Penguinsa I met Floof’s double yesterday! A huge, handsome boy of very similar colouring and pretty much the same age, or so I discovered when I asked. He was massive and very friendly.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 07/02/2024 00:21

It turned out to be quite a nice day today. 😎
Had last post partum obgyn appt today and all is good. Sent a baby gift off to friend with newborn then popped into produce shop for a few small things. Had a nice Greek salad for lunch and put together lunch for Havoc. Now have new tea towels in the wash and a double-choc banana bread in the oven (Havoc helped with stirring). Baby and Havoc are now napping and I'm scrolling MN and eating a pice of carrot cake. I think I'll close my eyes for a bit , too, once the banana bread is done
so hoping everyone will still be asleep. 🤞

Penguinsa · 07/02/2024 02:30

Glad baby is doing well Havoc

Hilda I told Floof you had met a second Floof and so it was Floof and Floof and he trilled.

Feeling a bit weak and dizzy today but DH made a lovely homemade cottage pie with red wine and cheese on top and also had a hot milk with honey. Bins are out for collection. DD had 3rd uni offer confirmed so all she wants are back with 2 more to hear from. Her mocks are this week. She bought a pair of leggings too many so said I should have them which is kind of her.

Tilllly · 07/02/2024 05:39

I'm still in hospital and I think they're trying to poison me...

Penguinsa · 07/02/2024 05:48

Sorry to hear you are in hospital Tilllly How are they trying to poison you, is it the NHS food?

Penguinsa · 07/02/2024 05:52

And do you have any pet news you need to share Tilllly?

HelenaJustina · 07/02/2024 06:38

Managed to contain vomiting to just the one child and cracking on with the week. DC1 goes away on Sunday for most of half term, but has mock revision and 6th form interviews this week too, it’s a lot so I’m trying to be supportive.

People are annoying me at work by handing their notice in. We’ve a big staff so it’s not a huge proportion of the whole, but the paperwork is irritating and replacing them proving very tricky.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 07/02/2024 07:17

Oh, Tillly! Did I miss a post saying you were going to hospital and now you're admitted?
How are you doing? When I was there last week I tried to think of it as a mini get-away. 🤣 (we do what we can to cope...) Although at one point sleep deprivation had me wondering if solitary confinement in prison was similar ... please let us know how you are doing. 🩷🩷🩷
Penguinsa, how lovely you dh made dinner. 🥰 You're dd has sine decisions to make, I guess? I must admit that I am thoroughly confused by the application process, though. I thought she was accepted to her school of choice and all was done. 🤷‍♀️
Helena, same comments re school; hoping your other dc gets well soon. 🩷

Had a nice chat on the phone with best gf this evening. (Actual talking, not messaging).
Dinner was rigatoni with sautéed mushrooms, spinach, prawns, asparagus and tomatoes. I added a spoonful of pesto and a bit of whipping cream; stirred it up and simmered then served with grated pecorino. Dessert was a slice of the chocolate banana bread with some sweetened whipped cream on the side. Managed to get a load of laundry in before phone call and is now drying.

Penguinsa · 07/02/2024 07:40

Your food sounds lovely as ever Havoc

Yes DD has got an offer from her first choice university which she will name as first choice once she has heard back from all 5 choices. You also have to name a second choice one as well and that's what these offers are for though the universities themselves don't know who else has made offers. The first choice is called the 'firm' and the second choice the 'insurance'. You go to the firm one unless you fail to meet the offer and they say they won't accept you with grades you got (in DDs case they accept 97% so likely to be fine) and then your insurance you go to if not and you have the grades for there. If neither accept you as you've gone under the grade offers you can go through clearing which is what is left. You can also withdraw from universities to speed up the process but DD wants to wait for all 5 which is also the normal thing to do. It goes on to around May. Exams are May and June then Oxford would start in October. Most universities start in September but Oxford and Cambridge have shorter terms.

Glad the bug was contained Helena

Hope you can escape hospital soon Tillly

Tilllly · 07/02/2024 12:37

Not sure @Mumtobabyhavoc
I can't think who I've told what to

Admitted on Monday with fever and chest pain
Am in isolation
They know there's an infection but not where
Having jabs for a clot - tho they've not seen a clot
And ever increasing pain meds but chest pain is still hovering - tho not excruciating on the meds

Still waiting to see if the gamma knife can go ahead tomorrow

Yes @Penguinsa
One offering yesterday was macaroni cheese with mashed potato. It's all I'm talking about 🤣

Tilllly · 07/02/2024 12:38

@Penguinsa
That is the best and clearest explanation of uni app process ever!!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 07/02/2024 13:02

Tilly, that's quite a jump from your last updates! 🙀 Keeping you in my thoughts. 🩷
