Ok ...I was going back to my 20's then ...bit of a time lasp !

I still like a glass of milk though !

My old bones neeed all the help they can get !

Well ..he has gone to do his duty !! 😣😲!

Yes I was a silly mamma and got up to make sure the water and heating was on !

Back in bed now with a cuppa though 🤣!

I didn't make him a packed lunch...but I did give him a little chocolate brownie (from my private stash I might add 😅 !)

I told him ...this was a first day special treatment....by Friday I will be moaning that he has woken me up !haha .

Think he was a bit apprehensive about it all...but at the same time he will just wing it !...(takes after his mother !)

Now ...I am not a betting person...apart from the lottery ...does that count 🤔🤔...

But I reckon my boy will be in bed lights out by 10pm tonight 🤣🤣..

My boy is definitely not a lark ...he is an owl true and true ! 🤣

Apparently yes, re taste buds. One of our solo lot used to live in Nigeria and loved the spicy food. However after her pregnancy she could not face spicy food and that was some years ago!

Mallards , a North American skillet is technically a pan like a frying pan but with slightly deeper sides and perhaps a bit larger in diameter than the usual frying pan. In practice, it's virtually indistinguishable from a frying pan, though normally a 'cast iron skillet' is something you can use on the stovetop and also in the oven.

I've heard my mum call the kitchen utensil with the handle and the flat surface a 'fish slice' and that's what I call it in my head, but I think a lot of Americans would call it a pancake flipper or spatula, and a cake batter scraping spatula would be 'no, not that one, the RUBBER spatula'.

Math is correct. We gave DS a cast iron skillet when he first started cooking a few years ago. It's very similar to this.

The utensil we would call a spatula. The soft, non-heat resistant one is a rubber spatula. We used the skillet last night to brown the beef before it went into the Instant Pot, and DS tried to stir it with a rubber spatula. DH corrected him before any damage was done.

The new fridge came late, so I'm working from home for the rest of the day. Here it is, loaded with the items from the old one. It's much bigger, which will be nice when we entertain and I have a big meal to make.

6am deadline DD appeared with 10 black sacks of things for the collection so those have gone. Went swimming and did 110 lengths and steam room and jacuzzi but there were 3 guys and 1 boy causing issues in there today and the guy on reception was constantly telling them off, it was like 4 teenage kids with no parents breaking all the rules. Then came back and found DS had used the new microwave and made himself a hot chocolate and also had a bath and used a hairbrush, half a bottle of shampoo, half a bottle of conditioner, 2 wild rose bath foams and 1 lavender shower gel so he must smell like a florists now. 😂

Expecting a long night here, when we left for swimming Floof was asleep on my bed, came back about 4 hours later still in same spot and woke up like bagpuss wakes up. So he'll be hyper all night.

I know I'm getting old when I get excited about someone else's new fridge MissC 😆

Bagpuss, now there's a blast from the past. Does Floof do the zooming round the house thing Penguinsa? I had two cats used to chase each other round some nights playing. One of them was a little larger than average and heavy in his feet, it sounded like a heard of elephants. 😂 At DS using all the toiletries.

Putting the living room to rights next before I head off to bed, goodnight all.

Floof can zoom / leap around the upstairs floor, we have a couple of about 50cm floor beams as old house and he loves leaping over those like he's doing the cat hurdles and jumping on the fridge and jumping on the headboards, chair backs. But he tends to be like that for say 3 minutes then needs a rest then resumes and this goes on for 30 mins or so once or twice a day. DH is currently saying it's nighttime Floof.

Love the fridge! If I lived alone and did not have to share I would love such a fridge! I only have two shelves and on one is all my sauces and condiments plus nail polishes!

Resurfacing after a long absence to say I’m hoping the baby is improving, Havoc, and all the poorly ones are doing OK. The mention of Bagpuss brought me back, as we had a lovely placid ginger cat called that in my childhood. Dearly loved and much missed.

I'm going out to get my hair cut this morning at a brand-new-to-me salon and feeling a bit nervous. I’m still mourning the departure of my previous hairdresser in London who had to close her salon after Covid effectively torpedoed the business, and I haven’t found a good one since. She recommended a replacement but unfortunately I haven’t really gelled with her, and last time I felt a bit upset at a few thoughtless comments she made, so I feel reluctant to go back. Fingers crossed this one won’t argue with me about the cut I ask for…..

Death, could you have a mini fridge in your room?
Penguinsa, Floof sounds like quite the acrobat! The convo your DH has with Floof sounds exactly like what I have with Havoc: it's bedtime, Havoc. It's sleepy time, Havoc. Etc. 🤦‍♀️🥱
Hello and welcome back, Hilda. Thank you for the kind thoughts. I've had some bad haircuts and would find it difficult to settle on a new hairdresser.

Well, not quite boring in my world: I'm back in hospital with baby. It's about a quarter past 3 in the morning. We're admitted to the paediatrics ward. Nurse just put oxygen on baby who is sleeping like an angel snuggled on my chest. Baby has bacterial infection per recent tests. Going to try and sleep. Am beyond tired. Everyone at hosp has been lovely, though.

So sorry you are back at hospital with your baby Havoc I do hope they can get her better soon and you can get some rest somehow. Yes Floof reminds me of a young DS sometimes, when I use the flowery shampoo he loves the smell so much he comes on my pillow for a snuggle purrs away and tries to eat my hair just like DS used to.

So glad Bagpuss brought you back Hilda Hope the haircut goes OK.

Oh Havoc, that wasn’t a very well-timed post of mine - really sorry to hear baby is back in, you must be frantic. Sending love and all good wishes from this little corner of the planet.

I don't know if I'm coming or going... completely forgot I posted over night! 😵‍💫
Awaiting paediatrician consult re last night's labs and to make plan. Nurses and doctor weren't able to get i.v. in last night, 6 attempts(!), so antibiotics given by injection last night and this morning. Baby is swaddled and sleeping on my chest. 🩷
I've had tea & toast and might close my eyes for a bit.
Can hear a baby crying in absolute distress. It's so sad. 💔 The mum must be going out of her mind with worry.

Havoc, I'm so sorry to hear that the baby is back in hospital. Have they identified the bacteria and started AB's?
