I have a beef curry in the go . .and it is smelling 😍..

Though all credit goes to the slow cooker 🤣 !

I did do a bit of prep though!!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 26/01/2024 17:02

Penguinsa, I'm with you... 45 mins sleep here. I should google the side effects of your med and compare it to Letrazole which my mum takes w/o snd side effects. One of the oncology doctors mentioned switching to Tamoxiffen, but we're a but dubious as currents meds tolerated well.
I generally have sleep issues and it's shit. I sympathize. 💐
Mallards, you could be right! 💡
Tillly, years ago I was on a date, ordered French onion soup, and accidentally swallowed a bay leaf. I excused myself, went to the washroom snd fished it out of my throat, then went back to the table as if nothing happened! 🤷‍♀️😂 Good god, it's lucky I didn't choke as I prioritized my embarrassment over safety. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
I've been wary of them ever since. 😁

I'm in the ward with baby now. Nurse is lovely. Was given a parking pass, signd into wifi and offered breakfast (declined, I have recent experience 🤢); and a student nurse is also available to help. Awaiting doctor in the next hour or so. Baby's fever is staying below 38c. 👍
Going to try for that nap...🥱🥱🥱🥱

MissConductUS · 26/01/2024 17:37

Mallards, I have insomnia too. My GP didn't have a problem giving me Eszopiclone for it, which works really well with no side effect. The only issue with it is that it washes out of your system quickly, so after six hours or so, it doesn't keep me asleep, and I often wake up very early. My old GP left the medical practice I'm with at the end of the year, and I hope that my next one is just as accommodating about it. You're correct about most medics having an unfounded reluctance to treat insomnia.

Havoc, the test result for the baby sound positive. Fingers crossed she has a swift recovery.

Bizzey, I'm sure your beef curry smells great. I hope DH and DS make Mongolian Beef in the Instant Pot again this weekend.

DS has had some more job interviews and spoken to two recruiters who focus on finance and accounting jobs and feels pretty positive about his situation. I think he also appreciates that living at home since he graduated from uni was a smart decision. We try very hard to give him as much space as possible. He has our 4th bedroom on the lower level converted to a home office and man cave with a TV so that's his retreat.

I'm on carried-over annual leave again today, so I've done some clutter-clearing and reorganizing in the garage to make room for the new fridge. It's going to be a bit bigger than the old one.

Poor baba and poor mama Havoc hope you have had a few moments of sleep and that baby is improving rapidly. They go downhill quickly and bounce back quickly too. Hang in there x

HelenaJustina · 26/01/2024 22:38

I’ve staffed two school discos this evening and spent 13 hours at work today. Shattered in front of television now, trying to summon the energy to go to bed!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 26/01/2024 22:39

Baby and I are home. ☺️
Thanks again, everyone, for the kind words of support. Bacterial infection was ruled out. I think 5 or 6 doctors assessed baby overall.
Baby was so well cared for (so was I). Doctors and nurses really took the time to listen and ask questions and follow-up questions.
Very lucky here.

🩷It was really comforting to be able to post here and receive caring responses.
I appreciate the hand hold from all of you.🩷

bizzey · 26/01/2024 22:48

Ohh Havoc ..💓...What lovely words x

So glad things are on the up !

Penguinsa · 27/01/2024 00:32

Havoc So glad you are home again.

Well done Helena on getting through all that.

Hope your DS finds another job he wants soon MissC sure he will.

Yes Tamoxifen is worth it Mallards, I find anti-histamines help with sleep.

Just been swimming. DH isn't well.

bizzey · 27/01/2024 00:42

Ohh your poor dh Penguia ...
Hope he is better soon .

Tilllly · 27/01/2024 00:52

I can't count sheep @Penguinsa
Utterly stupid idea
How does it help you sleep?

And those "soothing" sound apps - really wind me up

Tilllly · 27/01/2024 00:54

Penguinsa · 26/01/2024 14:47

So sorry Havoc Hope things improve soon.

Oh sorry Tilllly I completely misread your post. I thought you were cross people were telling you to rest if you can't sleep rather than telling Havoc to rest. I got hardly any sleep last night though now caught up. Good job Mallards can read things.

🤣🤣🤣
I'm worse cos I thought I must've said something like that and forgotten 😁

Penguinsa · 27/01/2024 00:56

Thank you Bizzey He's had ear infections for a month and a half now but been OK but yesterday and today started feeling rough. He said he is taking a covid test tomorrow. The cat was very cross about him being ill as he wanted to play mousey with DH and only DH. DH kept explaining he was ill and the cat stood up and was banging his paws on the wardrobe and getting quite cross. I tried to play with him but he was no I want DH. Then he came on the bed with me but very resigned.

Tilllly · 27/01/2024 00:56

@MallardsMoorhensAndLethe I think sleeping tablets don't give you proper restful REM sleep
So good for a few nights in a trauma situation but no use for general insomnia

Penguinsa · 27/01/2024 00:59

Yes I've never found a soothing app or music that helps. DD plays them to the cat, the cat go to sleep ones, doesn't work for him either.

Tilllly · 27/01/2024 00:59

EXACTLY Havoc, bay leaves secretly try to kill you in many ways

So glad things are better ☺️

@MissConductUS yay for the job interviews, that sounds like he's feeling more positive

Penguinsa · 27/01/2024 01:01

Oh Havoc meant to say if your Mum doesn't have much letrozole would stick with it, it has a very slightly higher success rate than Tamoxifen but more side effects especially aches and pains. Unless oncologist advises otherwise.

bizzey · 27/01/2024 01:13

Wrote a lovely moany post ....then lost it 🤣🤣🤣

I bet you are all pleased 8

bizzey · 27/01/2024 01:14

Even that one went wrong 🤣

bizzey · 27/01/2024 01:16

Catching up on all the soaps sends me to sleep very quickly x

bizzey · 27/01/2024 01:21

So stressed out with my DB at the moment ...I am surprised he even remembers how to breathe without someone telling how to do it 😡😡!

bizzey · 27/01/2024 01:23

I am paracetamol and Naproxen due to me thinking I could move something a bit heavier than I thought, while sitting on the settee at a 90 degree angle twist....

I do not advise that position at all !

bizzey · 27/01/2024 01:25

Didn't do it now..
Did it earlier...

Needed a full stomach for the Naproxen...munched on 3 chocolate chip cookies ...best I could do 🤣

Penguinsa · 27/01/2024 01:30

Hope you are not in pain now Bizzey

We got DS a pack of 4 posh hot chocs for his birthday, 100% dark chocolate, 85% dark chocolate, 40% milk and 40% milk chocolate with salted caramel. We normally give him the milk chocolate but whilst we were out he went for the 100% dark chocolate. Probably 100% sounded better.

Penguinsa · 27/01/2024 01:31

I had a midnight muller corner with vanilla

bizzey · 27/01/2024 01:33

Is the midnight muller corner...the flavour (I want to try it if it is. 🤣)
Or the time it was eaten 🤣
