So sorry Tilllly

Darts sounds fun Bizzey I used to love watching Bullseye as a child.🤣

Well done on spotting error MissC if a bit annoying.

Hope you feel better soon Half

Not set up new microwave yet but DS used the old one by himself for the first time since he's been back home to make himself a hot chocolate. It's the posh hot chocolate I got him for his birthday. Also got 2 loads of washing done and washing machine blockade appears to have largely stopped.

Had steak in red wine sauce new potatoes and broccoli for dinner then DH and I had some of the posh hot chocolate. Cat has been super cuddly all day. DH went to the bakers and got some nice cheese and some pickled onions pickled in balsamic vinegar, they were nice but sweeter than normal. DD went to school. Candle is on.

bizzey · 25/01/2024 23:22

Hello all ..
Well the bed linen is in bags by front door ready to be put out in the morning..

I am desperately resisting the urge to open them and check I am still happy with what I have put in there ...and not start taking things out. 🤣🤣!

I have left myself with 2 sets for the single beds plus 1 emergency spare and 2 sets for my bed .

Airing cupboard is looking very organised!

bizzey · 25/01/2024 23:30

Penguinsa !!! 🤣🤣

Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news 28: Calmly through the day
Penguinsa · 25/01/2024 23:33

😂Bizzey. I now need to watch Bullseye.

MallardsMoorhensAndLethe · 26/01/2024 00:15

Oh no! 😟 That's rotten luck on both counts Tilllly.

Goodness MissC what a mistake to make! Good job you get to proof read these things.

bizzey · 26/01/2024 00:20

Penguinsa ..freeview 46 Challenge channel...they do the re runs of old quiz programs .!

For those who do not know what Bullseye was ...

It was a very popular TV game show in the '80s .

3 couples.
1 was a darts player and the other would answer the quiz questions.

They won points to get to the final.

They played an end game together to win amazing prizes (not 🤣🤣!)

I think they could gamble at the end to win the star prize ...which is kept a secret..

And yes ....the motor boat was one of the prizes 🤣!

Brilliant if you live in the middle of a city , in a high-rises block of flats with no car 🤣!

The best bit was ...if they didn't win...the host would then say ...
Ohh never mind ....have a look at what you would have won 🤣🤣🤣..

Catch phrase was ...
" You cant beat a bit of Bully "

Ohh it was classic '80s family viewing 🤣

bizzey · 26/01/2024 00:22

And as for 3-2-1 ...well that was the most ridiculous quiz show ever !!

Penguinsa · 26/01/2024 00:39

Yes 321 Dustybin and the price is right.

Tilllly · 26/01/2024 04:30

321... and that hand gesture

Mumtobabyhavoc · 26/01/2024 04:52

Oh, @Tilllly I'm sorry. 😔There's not much a stranger on the internet can do, or say, but it's crap news for sure. FFS. 🤬
**

I'm in emerg with baby. Paediatrician wants to admit us. Baby is at risk for bacterial infection due to age. Awaiting urine/virus/blood test results. Brought a bag with two days of clothes, pj's etc, so I did prepare for this (Had experience with Havoc as a NB in NICU).
Trying to stay calm, but FFS. 😥😬
Paed mentioned possible lumbar puncture (spinal tap) and I panicked inside as Havoc had that and I f'ing had a meltdown when I heard my NB scream. Trying to breathe.

Tilllly · 26/01/2024 04:59

Oh no @Mumtobabyhavoc

how long have you been there?

Mumtobabyhavoc · 26/01/2024 07:00

@Tilllly Got home now around 10:30pm.
Instructions are to wake her every 2 -3 hours to check her, feed her and take temp. Any new or worsening symptoms or return of fever and I am to return to hospital. Must go back regardless tomorrow to see paediatririan for re-assessment mid-morning. Doctor wanted us to stay tonight, but baby isn't in distress and I've still got my sick toddler here at home. Virus screening results won't be available until tomorrow, blood screening was negative for infection and urine was borderline for infection. I've got bags packed and ready, so am prepared to go back tonight if necessary and be admitted tomorrow if necessary.

Sorry everyone for the lengthy post.
Thanks Tilly for replying. 🩷

Tilllly · 26/01/2024 07:09

The hits just keep on coming... remember to drink water and eat some fruit

try to rest even if you can't get much sleep

whyyy321 · 26/01/2024 09:01

I'm so sorry havoc, so stressful especially with your toddler at home poorly too. I hope you've got some good support around you. And I'm sorry for your news too, tilllly.

Glad you caught the typo/mistake, MissC - our table plan had a typo, we had a bridge and groom rather than a bride and groom!

I've been put in a different part of the hospital to run my clinic today, and it's much nicer! Wonder if I can stay. Further from the cafe for coffee, though...

Penguinsa · 26/01/2024 10:34

So sorry lovely Havoc I hope you all get better soon. It's so scary when they are tiny. Sending you a big hug.

DH is apparently unwell. Cat is it's playtime, I still want to play DH, poke, leap. Cat is with me now calming on back of chair.

Penguinsa · 26/01/2024 10:37

I hate the try to rest even if you can't sleep phrase Tilllly Like it's restful failing to sleep. I actually prefer to be doing something so at least I don't feel like am wasting time. Count sheep is another annoying one.

bizzey · 26/01/2024 12:00

Ohh Havoc ..how scary of you all 😞💓.

Will be sending you lots of good wishes from across the pond x

Tillly .. Sorry to hear things are so stressful at the moment .
Wishing you all the best 💓.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 26/01/2024 14:09

Thank you for the support and good thoughts
Whyy, Tillly, Penguinsa, Bizzey
Am back at emerg; baby to get chest x-ray; doctor leaning toward doing the spinal. Baby's fever was 38.6c when I left home. Has dropped to just below 38c now. Baby is a lot more comfortable now that fever has decreased at least. Have had about 45 mins sleep.

MissConductUS · 26/01/2024 14:11

Havoc, how scary and stressful for you! Your poor little ones. Fever coming down is a good sign.

MallardsMoorhensAndLethe · 26/01/2024 14:24

Fingers crossed it's nothing serious Havoc and baby is able to come back home soon. I agree with Tilllly, if you can lie still it gives your body some rest even if you're not asleep and is better than nothing.

Bizzey I fricking hated Bullseye so much but my parents liked it so we had to watch it.

Hope you get to stay in the new area Why.

A good drying day here so I'm catching up on laundry.

Penguinsa · 26/01/2024 14:47

So sorry Havoc Hope things improve soon.

Oh sorry Tilllly I completely misread your post. I thought you were cross people were telling you to rest if you can't sleep rather than telling Havoc to rest. I got hardly any sleep last night though now caught up. Good job Mallards can read things.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 26/01/2024 15:10

Penguinsa and Tillly, 😂 and I thought Tilly's comment struck a nerve with Penguinsa considering everything Penguinsa has been through/is dealing with🩷🩷
It's a bit like the telephone game online, isn't it? 😁

It's just after 7am now and I'm wondering if I can sneak out for a decaf tea. Once we go up to the ward I might be able to catch a nap. Baby is sleeping and looks like an angel. 😇🩷

Penguinsa · 26/01/2024 15:34

Hope you can get your tea Havoc Hope that means your baby is getting better.

No things are going very well here this year Havoc but my sleep is still rubbish on the Tamoxifen and I read Tillllys message half asleep and wrongly assumed she was having a rant about people saying that to her as it's normal to rant during chemo etc. So I did what was intended to be a supporting rant. But then when I saw Mallards message I read back and realised I had completely misread the post.

MallardsMoorhensAndLethe · 26/01/2024 16:02

I'm an insomniac Penguinsa. Those days when you've had so little sleep your head is filled with sawdust and you can barely remember your own name are just the pits. Hope the tamoxifen is working well for you even if it does keep you awake.

Given the generally accepted importance of sleep I'm always a bit surprised at how anti most doctors are about sleeping pills. I'm quite convinced that a lot of the worn out people, miserable people, angry people, lazy people, drinkers and weed smokers etc etc wouldn't be, if only they could get a decent night's sleep. One of the mysteries of modern medicine.

Hope you can get a nap soon too Havoc

Tilllly · 26/01/2024 16:33

Bloody bay leaves

Why can I never find them all in the soup?!

I'm definitely going to end up blending at least one
