Whats with all these women having babies at such a late age? Janet Jackson, Naomi Campbell, Victoria Corven are they using donor eggs?.surrogates?

Firsttimemum120 · 11/11/2023 18:41

😂😂😂😂

Vinrouge4 · 11/11/2023 18:46

Blimey. All these fertile celebrity women. Didn’t realise it was even possible at her age.

SiobhanSharpe · 11/11/2023 18:47

The Ramseys are extremely wealthy, Tana won't have to drag herself out to do the school run unless she absolutely wants to. They will almost certainly have help in the form of a housekeeper, cleaners, nannies and, er, what is it Gordon does? Oh yes...

SiobhanSharpe · 11/11/2023 18:47

More power to her.

boamorte · 11/11/2023 18:48

Does she read MN otherwise this is a weird thread

SkyFullofStars1975 · 11/11/2023 18:49

Just because modern medicine can help women carry babies at this age doesn't mean that it should. It crosses the lines of ethical treatment IMO.

Is that child going to be grateful for geriatic parents when they're in their teens?

Neurodiversitydoctor · 11/11/2023 18:05

First Victoria Cohen Mitchell then Tanya Ramsey. Something in the water in January ?

Yes. Lots of money to pay for fertility treatment and egg donation.

These kind of announcements were the kind of thing which made me think "there's plenty of time" in my early thirties (hint - there wasn't).

Firebug007 · 11/11/2023 18:49

I suspect with such a large age gap between Oscar (4) and the older kids this addition is to give Oscar a sibling close in age and they can afford nannies.

Can someone tell me how it's possible le at 49? Does it mean she somehow hasn't gone through the menopause?

TheKnittedCharacter · 11/11/2023 18:55

Another middle aged woman having a baby. It’s obviously becoming a trend.

I am 50 and still having periods.

But the thought of having a baby now makes me shudder.

Peakypolly · 11/11/2023 18:59

That would be an early menopause though? My family seem to stop menstruating around 55.

Simonlebonbon · 11/11/2023 18:59

The TV psychiatrist/youtuber Emma Kenny just had a baby a few weeks ago at 50 also.

I’m almost 48 and my periods are like clockwork every month. My mum went through the menopause in her late thirties but my paternal grandmother was mid fifties. So it seems like I am taking after my grandma, which is no suprise since I look like her, not my mum.

Bunnycat101 · 11/11/2023 19:02

I can tell I am well passed wanting another as instead of looking at babies and thinking ‘aw how lovely’ I just look at them and think ‘rather you than me’. Do women get some sort of hormonal urge just before menopause because I just can’t fathom wanting a baby at 50.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 11/11/2023 19:05

Awww I've Just saw him them. He's such a little cutie pie, erm the baby not Gordon. 😂

stealtheatingtunnocks · 11/11/2023 19:06

my great granny had twins at 52. She thought thwy were menopause.

I wish I wasn’t still ovulating because I definitely don’t have the energy for twins

My thoughts exactly!

Congrats to both women.

EachandEveryone · 11/11/2023 19:08

They will be frozen embroyos from the last time they had ivf. I think the rwins were as well. They wont be eggs from her 50 year old self. And that goes for all these older celebs. Ive seen women myself give birth at 55 and of course they arent their eggs. If you have money you can do anything. And just because you are still having periods at 50 it means nothing the quality of your eggs just wont be there.

Quite possibly.

It's getting rare to conceive and then to carry a pregnancy to term at that age, but it's definitely still possible

Remember the NHS says that if you don't want to start a pregnancy you need to wait before abandoning contraception for 2 years if under 50 and 1 year if over

Lots of women go through the menopause much later than 49.

My teenager appears to be quite content with his “geriatric” parents. Sure, there are some disadvantages, but, for us, they are far outweighed by the advantages. I’m sure little Jesse James Ramsay will have every advantage.

BIWI · 11/11/2023 19:11

The average age in the UK of the menopause is 52, so she was still fertile, based on averages!

My DH is a menopause baby!

There’s a large age gap between me and my sister, she has absolutely always felt like my sibling, she was annoying as a kid and is my best friend as an adult. Age isn’t a barrier in family. I’m sure it’s not the same in every family but it’s not a given that they won’t feel like siblings.

It definitely isn’t the same in every family.
There’s also a large age gap between me and my sister. She’s never felt like my sibling. I always wanted to be close to her, but we aren’t. I thought it was the age difference, however her closest friend is a year younger than me. Guess she just doesn’t like me. 😢
