Whatever happened to - Timotei shampoo??

One of the biggest brands of my 80s childhood and 90s early adult hood. The woman with the long golden hair frolicking by a waterfall, and a horse (?) Huge selling brand, it was everywhere and everyone used it.

Then at some point it completely disappeared. What happened? Was it replaced by "Because I'm worth it" and the Herbal Essences woman?

I loved timotei shampoo and flex conditioner.
Why do manufacturers do away with what seems to be popular stuff? Why? Dammit!

Bloody hell, henna powder! I tried that at well, don't know why because my hair is black and it did nothing for me. I do remember the mess and that peculiar smell it had.

You can buy one now with green writing for £2 in Superdrug, apparently the same but they added green tea.

I don’t think it ever went away totally as seen it from time to time but became not popular in the U.K. Have seen it in Poundland type places in U.K. in the past.

I haven’t bought it as hate the stuff, gave me a flaky scalp.

Vidal Sassoon (brown bottles) was good, Aveda Cherry Almond isn’t the same but has a similar smell.

Yes, I do! I used to love the smell of it and the way it came out of the barrel. I thought it made my hair most lustrous, but looking back, it was probably because I was young then and my hair would have been lustrous regardless of WHAT I'd used.
But thank you for reminding me of it!🤗

I remember that, it was lovely. The smell was incredible! What I’m wondering is whether all these lovely smelling shampoos and conditioners of years ago had lots of chemicals (parabens, SLS, silicone etc) that my teenage daughter is drumming into me to avoid like the plague!

Going slightly off topic, but does anyone remember the spray for hair which was gold and silver? You were supposed to make a cap from tinfoil, spray and viola, instant highlights... along with gold and silver shoulders, clothes, carpets, walls and furniture!
Also the coloured hair mousses?

I was only telling DD the other night about Vidal Sasson’s marzipan smelling hair washing products. I loved them.

Obviously in the 80’s one could not go to school without a VERY liberal dose of Silvikrin Hairspray and ‘Twighlight teaser’ lippie. One naked flame and the entire 5th form would’ve gone up. How on earth the teachers let anyone near Bunsen burners in those days is a whole thread in itself 😂

As well as these exact ones in this clip (there are other variations of these as well, like colour protect etc) this is what I just happen to have in my cupboard at the moment. The bigger bottles are 650ml, these are one of the other ranges. The pink one to me is the nicest. Leaves hair so shiny. And I think they were around one pound each if I convert 😂

in fact, a couple of years ago I splashed out and ordered a huge (hairdressers salon size) bottle that was delivered from Germany.

I have kept the bottle and keep refilling it with cheap shampoos, they aren’t the same though!
