Whatever happened to - Timotei shampoo??

One of the biggest brands of my 80s childhood and 90s early adult hood. The woman with the long golden hair frolicking by a waterfall, and a horse (?) Huge selling brand, it was everywhere and everyone used it.

Then at some point it completely disappeared. What happened? Was it replaced by "Because I'm worth it" and the Herbal Essences woman?

Ahhh yes Salon Selectives! Loved it. Apple scented. Or at least the ones I used were. They just disappeared one day, then years later popped up in my local chemist for .99p per bottle. The pharmacist told me they were trying to rebrand with a cheaper price.

I do, in its little plastic barrel. Lovely smell and a brilliant shampoo. My all time favourite. I still yearn for it!

I don't think The Body Shop Ice Blue shampoo has been mentioned on the thread yet? Lovely zingy minty smell. The Natural Collection in Boots had lots of lovely choices; particularly liked the meadow grass, and banana options.

Roll on deodorant ("BO basher") was desperately uncool when I was a teen. It had to be a spray tin. Natrel Plus was my favourite; the ad featured a couple wearing body paint cavorting in a forest. I wondered how they didn't stub their toes.

I've always said there's a generation of people that would flock to the body shop again if only they brought back the old stuff, made to the old recipes.

I loved so many of their shampoos and conditioners.

Od definitely shop there again if they did. Does anyone remember around 20 years ago approx they had a big anniversary and stocked some old classics for a while? I wish they'd do it again. Do they still do banana shampoo?

Yes I remember Natrel plus. I used to use that or the blue Body mist deodorant.

Found the big bottle of the custard-like Flex conditioner rebranded as Revlon in Home Bargains as suggested.

It's brilliant and in the shower this morning I was transported right back to 1986.

most of all I miss the Vidal Sassoon shampoo and conditioner that smelt of marzipan in the brown bottles 😢😢😢

The vo5 hot oil tubes are available in superdrug. My sister in law got some at Christmas.

The formula seems to have changed sadly - they used to be brilliant

I used to love the original one in the green and white bottle. I didn't need conditioner when I used it.

Yep every time I hear his name pronounced I think of the shampoo 😂😂

So many memories here, especially the Anne French cleansing milk. The smell! Pure bliss.
Used to use a Timotei facial wash in a fat white/green tube. It lasted donkey's years.
Wish I could still find it.

Also discontinued:

St Ives thickening shampoo in a square bottle from Boots. It was around £4.99 in the early 90's, but transformed my thin hair into a lush mane 😁
Revlon 'dry skin' lotion.
It was heaven!
Have tried to find it everywhere.
It was always available in bodycare back in the late 80's.

I just checked our version. Ours still says Flex on the bottle, but apart from that they are exactly the same. I wonder why.

How much were they? If I convert the price here (they are currently on special 😊) they are just over 2 pounds.

Haven't seen that in ages, I do remember the Flex conditioner and it smelled lovely, was it a thick yellow texture? I love Pantene shampoo now. Have bought lots of expensive shampoos but were not good.

Now all I need is some Aapri facial scrub and my 80s beauty is sorted. Along with Limara body spray and Vidal Sassoon 3 step haircare (wash, protein hair remoisturising creme, and finishing rinse) AND I AM DONE.

I bought some Aapri scrub from Amazon a couple of months ago.

I think Aapri did these little scrubbing pads that you wet and they foamed up. Anyone else remember?
