Whatever happened to - Timotei shampoo??

One of the biggest brands of my 80s childhood and 90s early adult hood. The woman with the long golden hair frolicking by a waterfall, and a horse (?) Huge selling brand, it was everywhere and everyone used it.

Then at some point it completely disappeared. What happened? Was it replaced by "Because I'm worth it" and the Herbal Essences woman?

Timotei range is one-third off at Superdrug, so £1.99. Doesn’t say if it’s colour-safe though.

Anyone remember Linco Beer shampoo?

Yes, in a little beer keg 🥹 I loved it!

MansfieldLark · 12/08/2023 12:12

Did anyone put Toners (the ones in the sachets) on their hair all the time. I loved the rich mahogany

Mini rant, I hate those Herbal Essences ads. All that swishing and hair wafting. Grrr!

Back to the main discussion....

Me too but I really love their products. I wish I could still buy their (Herbal Essences) chamomile shampoos and conditioners

I used to use Henara henna shampoo (strawberry blonde). Does it still exist? <Googles>

I used to love Henna shampoo, I'd use the red one and it would just add some lovely red highlighlights and shine. When Hennara disappeared I moved to Boots own but then they disappeared that too.

I used to love organics shampoo, not the organix that's around now, they were green bottles, smelled amazing.

Me too. Wish they would bring that back.

Anyone remember Linco Beer shampoo?

Was it my imagination or did that actually smell beery?

PinkFootstool · 12/08/2023 12:39

Timotei is back?! Thank the gods! I'm not even blonde, but it made my hair so lovely.

My dad still uses Vosene.

notacooldad · 12/08/2023 12:40

Best shampoo ever was Vidal Sassoon in the 80's. Gorgeous!

Take two bottles into the shower? Not me, I just wash and go!

That was so posh!

Honks · 12/08/2023 12:57

Does anyone know if you can still get Knights Castile soap?
Used to love it and haven’t seen any for years 🥲

KimberleyClark · 12/08/2023 12:58

Anyone remember Herbal Sensation? It was a dandruff shampoo in a green bottle with different coloured tops - white for normal, Green for greasy and brown for dry. The ads said it made your scalp tingle and it did!

Revlon Flex shampoos and conditioners (originals) along with Revlon dry skin lotion were the best products ever known to man and the sole reason I am building a Time Machine in an attempt to go back to the early 1980s and purchase thirty bottles of each and bring them back to now.

Get me some please

You can buy Flex shampoo and conditioner on Amazon. I love that smell.

MattDillonsEyebrows · 12/08/2023 13:06

Ahh this thread has taken me back to my early teens in the late 80's! Never used Timotei but I used to have to buy my own shampoo and conditioner when I wanted to look like I've just stepped out of a saa-looo-honnn!! I loved SS!

Also used Henara when I was trying to be 'alternative'.

And I'd 'ruined' my hair with Sun-in so I moved on to the dye in the little triangle boxes, but I can't remember the brand.

Also deodorant, I used to have to buy my own, as my mum didn't know about it. I used a roll on one in a brown bottle, might have been boots own. I've not seen it for years but I know the smell will take me right back there.

aramox1 · 12/08/2023 13:08

Dumped it for vidal sasson wash'n'go that alleged coated your hair in plastic!

Harmony were the toners I think? In a green tea guise box.
