Awww pointy : cute!

pointythings · 24/07/2023 08:42

And I have literally just this second heard that DS has been granted PIP, first go, no appeal needed. His advisers have nailed it.

DuncinToffee · 24/07/2023 08:42

Lovely Pointy

Talking about twitter, has anyone on here started using Threads? Any good?

I signed up and had a look. Nothing of interest from what I saw. Perhaps it will grow.

It's going to make a massive difference to him. His mobility issues are never going to get better, and getting PIP will allow him to get a power addiction to his wheelchair. We can also now pursue a blue badge for him for when we travel together. I am beyond delighted for him.

DuncinToffee · 24/07/2023 08:57

Thanks, I signed up for mastodon but haven't used it much either

Congratulations on your PiP - that is fantastic 🥳
And the super cuddly cat.
Am cursing my dog for barking all night (no intruders unless you count foxes) - cats seem much more sensible.

Blossomtoes · 24/07/2023 09:02

Brilliant news @pointythings. And Lasagne is gorgeous.

Roussette · 24/07/2023 09:05

Point pleased to hear your good news re your son, and a very regal cat you have there!

I have been following Spanish election closely, result far better than I imagined.

I'm not on threads because I don't have IG. Musk is a fool reinventing the wheel with twitter

Notonthestairs · 24/07/2023 09:09

Twitter is hopeless at the moment. It keeps switching me to For You then filling my timeline with Farage, Sunak, bras and diets.

RafaistheKingofClay · 24/07/2023 09:48

Good luck to Elon getting everyone to call it X now.

Hhaha I'm glad it's not just me! I have to keep switching back to 'following', it's driving me mad! And yes... bras for old people

Piggywaspushed · 24/07/2023 10:24

Gove is just taking the piss out of all of us. He literally just said ' make architecture great again'.

DuncinToffee · 24/07/2023 10:37

Did he say it in an American accent?

Piggywaspushed · 24/07/2023 10:40

No , but one could sense the speech marks...

What's happened to the pro Tory voices on here, by the way? Not that I mind their absence!

Running around on show biz and royal threads from what I’ve seen.

Rishi Sunak says "of course" net zero is important to him after reports he's planning to delay or ditch green policies.

He wants to tackle climate crisis in a “proportionate and pragmatic” way - but unclear what he means by this.

Quite a front page from the Times this morning.

Thread 28 Sunak : Lords, Ladies and Lame Ducks
RafaistheKingofClay · 24/07/2023 13:31

Not sure they intended that photo and that main headline to run side by side.

Notonthestairs · 24/07/2023 14:01

Ah now Rafa I think you will find that because arson was involved that the climate crisis is irrelevant (never mind that the increase in hot dry conditions make landscapes more flammable and therefore more difficult to control).

DuncinToffee · 24/07/2023 14:16

Also we have autumn weather in the UK and weather forecasts are woke Confused
