Mr Sunak is bravely being interviewed by Nick Ferrari, today, on LBC, some time between now and 10am. They're asking for questions so presumably live not recorded.

@jgw1 where I am it’s more likely to split the vote and let the wanker back in again 😥 We just don’t know what to do for the best!

I feel your pain. This is the same dilemma in mid Beds, should Dorries actually ever go anywhere.

Sally Magnusson's latest book is set, partly, in nineteenth century Rutherglen, by the way .

So yesterday we were looking up shoplifters for first offence.

Today we are giving cautions for some first offences including assault to help the backlog of cases to be heard.

I barely have time to read news articles to the end before they are out of date 🙄

Seems Rishi may have told LBC that striking NHS workers are the reason siting lists are going up. He can fuck right off with that. Seemingly not worried about the nhs vote.

Trouble is some people will swallow it.

I thought he had gone on his family holiday?

Notonthestairs · 02/08/2023 11:03

NHS waiting lists -
2010 - 2.5 million
2020 (February) - 4.43 million.
2023 (July) - 7.5 million.

Unfortunately I don’t think he’s going until tomorrow.

Notonthestairs · 02/08/2023 11:46

He's going later today. But never fear Dowden is in charge. So we can look forward to more culture war crap.

DuncinToffee · 02/08/2023 11:52

The mystery holiday destination being California Confused

I have seen a few clips of the LBC interview, Sunak can't handle critique at all, behaves like petulant child resorting to lies

Maybe they will visit the computer lab they funded.

Cornettoninja · 02/08/2023 12:59

I listened to that interview and I’m summary it was shit. The same hot air he’s been blowing for months and a complete inability to acknowledge peoples very real concerns. He’s done so far as offering any solutions go.

And he basically laughed at the Nadine situation like it’s not a problem for any of her constituents and her conduct as an MP is somehow whimsical. It’s all okay folks, they’ll line up another Tory boy when she finally deigns to actually resign her post. Doesn’t even enter the conversation that she should be sacked for just being generally incompetent at the job she should have been doing.

RafaistheKingofClay · 02/08/2023 13:24

Did I see somewhere that he said we’re going to be much more satisfied when inflation has dropped.

No you twat. Because prices will still be a million times higher than they were 18months ago and my wages will not be. And still nothing will work like it should.

It’s OK, he’s come up with a policy that will fix everything. Of all the problems we have, not enough chess is the most pressing. Incidentally, 100 chess boards in parks doesn’t seem like many for the whole country.

Zonder · 02/08/2023 14:37

Chess? I'd have thought the toppling tower of Jenga would be more apt.

Saucery · 02/08/2023 15:13

More chess in state schools. Brilliant. Just what state schools need. Who is going to run the chess clubs when all the TAs have been sacked to pay the staffing costs? I’m just…..boggling at him throwing that in. Ludicrous.

I think I read somewhere that a few of his neigbours put up EU flags/banners

If I were Boris's neighbour, I would see that as my bounden duty. I'd be quite tempted to put up illuminated signs with interchangeable quotes from the Select Committee report. In fact, if I were on the council I would be tempted to put EU flags all along the road leading to his mansion.

Perhaps it's just as well I'm not a councillor.

There's a clip on Twitter where a doctor phoned in and put Sunak right on that. The expression of impatience and even anger on his face during her call is extremely telling. Clearly someone told him that going on Ferrari's programme was going to be an easy ride.

I believe he did acknowledge that Dorries' constituents are entitled to better? Any other presenter would ask him why the hell he hasn't at least withdrawn the Tory whip from her.

Not enough science teachers, but suddenly we can magic up teachers with the skills and inclination to teach chess?

Fortunately, chess club is available at the school his daughters go to. So that's OK.

He should probably let the leader of the Tory party know so they can sack her.
