I've just been listening to Spotify at work in the office and the new song "0800 Heaven" has come on and I'm sat blinking away the tears...not really sure why.

The song "The Christmas Shoes" ALWAYS makes me cry (lyrics).

What songs give you that unintentiomal teary feeling?

Also to perk the thred up a bit, what song if you listen to it, just gives you a really happy feeling?

A Dustland Fairytale by the Killers. Written by Brandon Flowers when his mum was dying of cancer. I listened to it a lot when my mum was terminally ill with cancer.

Not as classic as many of these mentioned but Struggle by The Lathums really makes me well up …

Oh, I struggle, remembering your face
I wake up, without a smile on my face
I notice the world's turning, but I'm stood still
And the voices, inside of my head
Oh, they tell me, that I will wind up dead
If I continue the path that I'm on

Stay by Shakespeare's Sister. It was playing on the radio when my best friend called me to tell me that her sister's life support had been turned off. She was only 10. That moment flashes up every time I hear that song.

Also Into the west. The bit Annie Lennox sings about "What can you see ? On the horizon
why do the white gulls call?

Across the sea a pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home."
