Have you seen this? We have a COL crisis and this is what he thinks. He must be very ignorant blind to anything going on with normal people.

I've just commented on another thread. It's just another example of how out of touch he is. He doesn't get it

Voted against were mainly made up by Conservatives.
It got over the line with Lab/Lib support.

A Conservative achievement but won cross party.

Not surprised by that at all. Plenty of nutters in the Tory party even back then.

Sunak always sounds like the geeky kid giving a talk on their school project.

🤣🤣🤣 yes. I always wanted a way to describe how he sounds when he does a speech.

When he did the good luck message to a town on their football match he sounded so uncomfortable I found myself laughing.

DuncinToffee · 20/05/2023 09:55

Some really sad news to end the day on as it's revealed that Rishi Sunak and his wife have lost £200 million and are now down to their last half billion

He sounds exactly like Will from The Inbetweeners. I always expect him to say “Brilliant” after some stinging criticism.

Can't think why they'd be dragging their heels over this -

The National Audit Office has told me that Ministers have refused to give them the sign off to undertake an inquiry at Teesside Freeport.

This decision is preventing Parliament from doing its work and I’ll be raising this with the Government when the House returns on Monday.

& many of them are still there!

Reader she took the points.

"EXCLUSIVE 🚨: Suella Braverman asked Home Office civil servants to help her avoid a speeding fine and points on her licence by arranging a private one-to-one driving awareness course

Serious Qs over whether she may have breached ministerial code

1/4"

Nothing says ‘it’s all above board’ like refusing an inquiry.

Darren Jones is very good! I saw him in action with the recently resigned RM CEO Simon Thompson

DuncinToffee · 21/05/2023 09:14

Rattled Rishi Sunak seeking to avoid inquiry into Suella Braverman’s request to civil servants for private speed awareness course - but barely offering support.

“I understand she has expressed regret for speeding, accepted the penalty & paid the fine”.

Has she expressed regret at having tried to get taxpayers to pay her fine?

RafaistheKingofClay · 21/05/2023 10:52

Apparently neither Rishi nor Coffey who was doing the round this am had been briefed on this story and know nothing about it. Honesty and integrity coming to the forefront of Rishi’s government again.

Neither the BBC nor ITV letting him get away with that ‘any questions about the summit’ answer.

itsgettingweird · 21/05/2023 11:06

It is good to see our media finally making them answers the uncomfortable questions (and actually asking them) and not accepting them governing the questions asked to only give the answers they want to!

Notonthestairs · 21/05/2023 11:20

So they haven't spoken to Braverman and know nothing?

They understand that plausible deniability requires it to be plausible, right?

Pathetic. Of course Sunak can't take action or the right wingers would lose their minds and he'd lose his cover. But whatever he thinks, she's not in the tent pissing out - she's making a mess inside.

Notonthestairs · 21/05/2023 11:25

Exclusive: The teacher pay review body has recommended to ministers a 6.5% increase in pay for 2023/24

That’s significantly higher than the DfE’s offer to the unions and way above the Treasury’s ceiling

Yet another major headache for Rishi Sunak

All told, though, it would be the same offer if the government gave this and wrote off the offer for this year.

Piggywaspushed · 21/05/2023 11:32

Heavens I had as good as forgotten about Leveson 2. Funny that.

Wholeheartedly agree with this article. We have been led by our noses.

Roussette · 21/05/2023 11:53

That is some article PiggyWP. And depressing.

Apparently neither Rishi nor Coffey who was doing the round this am had been briefed on this story and know nothing about it.

It amazes me that these Ministers who are obviously briefed on matters they are likely to be questioned about when doing the rounds, know nothing that the public know everything about if it comes to something one of them has done wrong.

RafaistheKingofClay · 21/05/2023 12:22

You’ll be even more amazed by this. Apparently sources close to the Home Secretary say she was simply asking civil servants how to arrange a speed awareness course. Presumably because she was too stupid to understand the simple instructions on the letter that everyone else seems to cope with.

That’s right up there with ‘I didn’t understand the rules I made’ and ‘I didn’t realise it was a party despite the table full of booze.’

DuncinToffee · 21/05/2023 12:34

'Nobody told me'

https://twitter.com/HarryYorke1/status/1660176398701547520?t=-uPxv_QtjIVGe4Vn_BMyQw&s=19

FWIW, when I notified Downing St about the Suella Braverman story yesterday it sounded like it was completely news to them

I’m told the PM had no idea and was never informed by the Cabinet Office/Home Office of either the speeding offence or the requests to civil servants

Thanks for that article Piggy

It also reminds me of Murdoch saying

When I go into Downing Street they do what I say; when I go to Brussels they take no notice
