What modifications would you like to make to the human body?

I don't mean bigger/smaller breats, liposuction or anything of that nature but helpful additions.

I wish that there was a reflex that'd stop you biting your tongue when eating or sneezing.

It'd be great if when you experience a pain or nausea, if your brain could tell you exactly what you need to do to fix it e.g drink more water, see a Dr, you need rest etc.

And teeth that replace themselves would be wonderful.

Oh and if you could get a period over with in an hour or at least one day, that'd be great.

What modifications would you make?

What would you add?

Def the ever renewing teeth, think two sets of teeth is a serious design flaw.

Would like sleep to be more automatic, basically an instant off switch, no more nights tossing and turning.

Birth, well a whole rethink needed on that I would think.

I know you said not breasts but I'd get rid of breasts, other mammals don't have them until they are lactating which seems much more sensible. Food hole next to breathing hole is a terrible design. Periods can go, releasing an egg during sex seems the more sensible way. The appendix can go too. Some people might like our cells to be replaced with new cells rather than aged ones maybe like lobsters, I'm not sure about this one yet.

A more convenient way to wee (for women in particular).

I’d like to grow an extra hand/arm for every child you have after 2.

TourmalineGiraffe · 28/04/2023 14:58

Yes! Food hole and breathing tube very odd

eighteentwentytwo · 28/04/2023 14:58

Wheels instead of feet

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 28/04/2023 14:58

Definitely no periods!

The sleep one would be amazing.

Birth definitely needs a revamp. I'd probably go with that one if I could choose only one.

Get rid of nails, I quite fancy retractable claws

Acheybreakyhead · 28/04/2023 15:00

I'd redesign the pelvis so it didn't have so many movable joints that are prone to swelling up

updin · 28/04/2023 15:01

I wish we didn't have to go to the toilet, it's so inconvenient. I do still want to be able to eat though (without putting weight on would be nice?) not quite sure how that would work...

LunaDeet · 28/04/2023 15:01

Larger or more easy to clean ear canals. Boobs to drop off after menopause.

JulieHoney · 28/04/2023 15:01

The whole joint thing is not fit for purpose. Knees etc shouldn’t wear out so much.

Birth? I vote marsupial. You can pause a pregnancy until convenient, the baby’s the size of a piece of rice, no one gets ripped apart or dies in childbirth. And you don’t even need to buy a sling to carry the baby around.

Most mammals don’t have a menopause, I’d get rid of that.

Brain cells should regenerate. No more dementia, please.

And more similar levels of strength in men and women to make VAWG less common.

flapjackfairy · 28/04/2023 15:01

literal eyes in the back.of the head as well as the front and an extra pair of hands

Xoxoxoxoxoxox · 28/04/2023 15:02

Most female mammals have an estrous cycle, yet only ten primate species, four bat species, the elephant shrew, and one known species of spiny mouse have a menstrual cycle.

It would be great if we could just re-absorb like most female animals.

Blanketenvy · 28/04/2023 15:02

Defo off switch for sleep and a detachable arm for sleep too, always feels awkward to know where to put one. As someone with chronic fatigue I'd like to be able to charge myself up frequently like a battery.

SusanSHelit · 28/04/2023 15:02

I'd quite like a spine fit for purpose instead of the engineering mess we currently have.

Also night vision please, and ears you can 'switch off' like when you close your eyes

TourmalineGiraffe · 28/04/2023 15:02

Hair like those dolls that you pull a lever on and it gets longer and shorter.

TourmalineGiraffe · 28/04/2023 15:03

Oh and the teeth one, would not have nerves in them either

SoupDragon · 28/04/2023 15:03

I'd quite like fertility and periods to be under our conscious control so we didn't have to have them if we didn't want to go pregnant.

Sleepingbeauty2510 · 28/04/2023 15:03

No periods and easier childbirth! Or no childbirth at all, maybe just lay an egg.

JuneShitfield · 28/04/2023 15:04

Knees that bend both ways. I’d like to be able to look like I’m walking into a room, but actually be walking out.

TourmalineGiraffe · 28/04/2023 15:06

oh and I was quite taken with the extra organ in women from The Power.
Yea please

JudyGemstone · 28/04/2023 15:06

A sphincter that neatly crimps off turds in a clean and hygienic manner, negating the need for the money and faff of toilet paper.
