What modifications would you like to make to the human body?

I don't mean bigger/smaller breats, liposuction or anything of that nature but helpful additions.

I wish that there was a reflex that'd stop you biting your tongue when eating or sneezing.

It'd be great if when you experience a pain or nausea, if your brain could tell you exactly what you need to do to fix it e.g drink more water, see a Dr, you need rest etc.

And teeth that replace themselves would be wonderful.

Oh and if you could get a period over with in an hour or at least one day, that'd be great.

What modifications would you make?

What would you add?

Well. My husband has piles atm...

Surpriseparty · 28/04/2023 16:57

Definitely the teeth thing. They are trouble from the minute they appear. We should have renewable ones like sharks have.

Slightly longer arms so that you can reach to scratch all of your back when you need to.

Some kind of apparatus that lets you breathe under water.

An override switch for pain signals. Like, yep I know my achilles tendon is fucked I don't need a reminder every step I take.

Arms that can be temporarily detached so you can lie on your side in bed in complete comfort.

AnnaTortoiseshell · 28/04/2023 17:01

The obvious one is that human infants would sleep twelve hour nights from birth.

And I’d like a big swishy tail like a cartoon fox.

ShouldIbeEmbarrassed · 28/04/2023 17:02

The ability to know you've fallen asleep, I hate it when I can't get to sleep but then I only know I did fall asleep once I've woke up. I need a feature that's say 'ah I'm finally asleep'.

Wings.

Opposable toes.

Better vision and hearing.

Climb up walls like spiderman.

So many possibilities! Great question.

Hoppinggreen · 28/04/2023 17:05

Knees are pretty rubbish

Jewelanemone · 28/04/2023 17:05

Make up that appears and disappears under our control, plus hair that can be long or short, whatever you want. All done through the power of thought.

Grippy toes like a bat.

BooksAndHooks · 28/04/2023 17:05

Being able to maintain the right body weight and burn excess fat without storing it when needed.

Definitely better teeth.

Periods would need to be improved. Maybe uterine lining that re absorbed rather than expelled each month.

@BooksAndHooks These ones are within your power! ;)

Bunnyannesummers · 28/04/2023 17:08

Bioluminescence

Seconded.

Agree re teeth. The hair suggestion is good. Could we also have skin that doesn't wrinkle and jowls that don't sag please?

thatsn0tmyname · 28/04/2023 17:10

Detachable arm so you can sleep on your side in comfort.
Eyes in the back of your head (particularly if you are walking home alone at night).

Also increase the average strength and endurance of females to match that of males. Would solve a lot of issues…

Yes!

FoxtrotOscarFoxtrotOscar · 28/04/2023 17:12

Body hair. Get rid.

Kindofcrunchy · 28/04/2023 17:17

I'd vote to keep boobs and breastfeeding but make the nipple out of tougher skin with no nerve endings. For those joyous cluster feeds when baby's tugging the shit out of your nipple -.-

TourmalineGiraffe · 28/04/2023 15:12

I would appreciate it if children would come with a sort of trapdoor in their tummy and food could be placed direct in, no more meal time stress.

Fuck yes, this. Just pour in the correct amount of milk/food periodically and shut the flap.

Knees that bend both ways. I’d like to be able to look like I’m walking into a room, but actually be walking out.

That really made me laugh!

Gerwurtztraminer · 28/04/2023 17:32

The whole human body thing needs a rethink doesn't it - not just a few modifications more like a back to the drawing board, forget evolution and start again moment.

But if I can't do that then I want everything to work perfectly from birth and never degrade - especially eyesight, teeth, skin, digestive system, joints, ligaments, hair.

Get rid of male/female and go hermaphrodite with bits that work either way whenever you choose.

And add some wings - fun, plus save the planet 'cos no need for cars or planes.

PictureConsequences · 28/04/2023 17:33

Cushioned feet was one I used to long for when I could be bothered to wear heels. And during second pregnancy, I fantasised about all sorts of alternatives but mainly wished I was a bloody seahorse.

thefactsarefriendly · 28/04/2023 17:33

Retractable arms for night time.

SoupDragon · 28/04/2023 17:39

I wonder what men would suggest if asked the same question?

Mostar · 28/04/2023 17:40

Night vision and/or glowing red eyes.

JamSandle · 28/04/2023 17:56

The ability to leave the bladder at home so you don't have to pee when out.
