What modifications would you like to make to the human body?

I don't mean bigger/smaller breats, liposuction or anything of that nature but helpful additions.

I wish that there was a reflex that'd stop you biting your tongue when eating or sneezing.

It'd be great if when you experience a pain or nausea, if your brain could tell you exactly what you need to do to fix it e.g drink more water, see a Dr, you need rest etc.

And teeth that replace themselves would be wonderful.

Oh and if you could get a period over with in an hour or at least one day, that'd be great.

What modifications would you make?

What would you add?

Great thread. Loved the posts about extendable legs going up and down and the eye on the end of an appendage 😂😂.

I would want a switch where you could switch off parts of your brain, such as the part that creates anxiety.

If our bodies could look inside themselves. So if we had a pain, we could have a look and see what is wrong. Or even better, if there was a button and the body would do a full scan and tell you what's wrong and what you need to do.

When you want to have a baby, you press a button and one is made. No need to go through trying to conceive etc.

To be able to control where hair grows on our body.

A self cleaning body so showers would be a thing of the past.

Two livers.

Thought of another one. The ability to record what we see in our brain and then play it back and watch it when we want.

2 mouths, one for talking and one for eating so i can talk and stuff my face at the same time 😂

I just LOVE body reshaping photo editors like Photodiva or teeth whitening editors like Photoworks, what they do is pure magic and I'd love to get an ability to reshape my body or whiten teeth or change eye color in real life, not just in pictures. In Harry Potter they had Metamorphmagi, those people who could do that, and I've always thought it was a super cool power 😁

I'd make it so snoring is impossible, kind of like how you can't touch your right elbow with your right hand, etc.

To be able to record your dreams

To be able to record your dreams

What if you found that each night's dream was a continuing story, with you in this other life? Imagine if you had another family, and you lived somewhere else and you could fire laser bolts from your eyes.

RoseRobot · 02/05/2023 14:38

@Mostar - Write the novel!

garlictwist · 02/05/2023 14:48

I wish you could close your ears like you can close your eyes so you can choose not to hear if you like.

@Mostar - Write the novel!

Ah, but could your dream world actually be your real life?

And could you write the novel of your dream life here in your 'real' existence, and another in your dreams based on your life here? All a bit Matrix, but you know, worth considering.

This might be going too far Sci fi, but I always liked the idea of having an Avatar that did all the boring stuff like go to work, get groceries etc so you're left with the time to live your best life 😁

I've heard of people whose jobs involve solo online working, who have 'outsourced' their own jobs to Asia - whereby they take the Western wage for doing the work, whilst they pass all that work on to a person in a much poorer country, pay them the going rate for their country, claim that they did the work themselves and then pocket the difference.

I genuinely can't work out if this is horribly exploitative or essentially mutually beneficial for both the employee and the actual worker with no harm done (not sure about the employer, mind).

Yes, I've heard of that too. I thought it was quite genius. I don't think it's exploitative necessarily as it's probably more money that the person would be able to earn otherwise so win-win. They'd probably prefer that, to nothing

That all men are born without a foreskin 'cause the amount I have encountered who seem to be unable to keep that area hygienic is unreal.... My ex had no idea he smelt of rotting fish/vomit/death down there....

VegemiteSammich · 03/05/2023 05:24

Boobs we could take off and put in the draw when we are home and not wanting to wear them.
If we need to pop out for a litre of milk we can whip our boobs out of the draw pop them on and off we go.

eyesight that doesn’t deteriorate with age

Toddlerteaplease · 03/05/2023 05:48

Detachable arms. So you can comfortably cuddle up with someone without it getting in the way.

Grim. That's an "ex" problem. I've never had that issue with anyone!

Mostar · 03/05/2023 21:31

You know that thing where a kid pulls a stupid face, and some oldster says something like "If the wind changes you'll stay like that?"

Well, that. Facial expressions to remain fixed according to wind direction.

Having an efficent sphinter on the urethra,

Men's penis's only able function in response to a woman wishing for its presence. Never ever in a state of aggression such as war, or DV.

Would make going for a slash a bit awkward.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 03/05/2023 21:44

Would make going for a slash a bit awkward.

And also any 'special private me-time'.

Could backfire, as if he wasn't capable of 'sorting himself out', his only option for 'release' would be to pester a woman.

Mostar · 03/05/2023 22:02

Imagine being phoned at work.

Hi, yeah, it's me. ... Listen, I'm absolutely bursting for a piss. Is there any chance you could let me use the big fella? ... Big fella. My penis. FFS. ... You're in a meeting? Yeah, but I just need a quick 'yes'. Can I please use my penis for the purposes of urination? ... What do you mean, call back in 20 minutes?!

MrsSkylerWhite · 03/05/2023 22:16

Just back from visiting elderly parents. Emotional.

So, a function in the brain that once it detects irreversible decline, brings a quick, painless and dignified end instead of allowing indignity and suffering.

(Sorry)

Treaclemine · 04/05/2023 07:31

All right, separate urination and sex. But prevent any possibility of of rape especially by hyped up soldiers in war. Sex should be part of an enjoyable experience for both parties, not a means of doing harm.
