What modifications would you like to make to the human body?

I don't mean bigger/smaller breats, liposuction or anything of that nature but helpful additions.

I wish that there was a reflex that'd stop you biting your tongue when eating or sneezing.

It'd be great if when you experience a pain or nausea, if your brain could tell you exactly what you need to do to fix it e.g drink more water, see a Dr, you need rest etc.

And teeth that replace themselves would be wonderful.

Oh and if you could get a period over with in an hour or at least one day, that'd be great.

What modifications would you make?

What would you add?

Reproductive and waste removal organs to be further away from each other.

TourmalineGiraffe · 28/04/2023 15:09

A gogo gadget arm, so I could gently place down my child at drop off or grab her at pick up from school, instead of having to leave the house.

No hair.

I appreciate that back in the day it kept our ancestors cosy mostly because they hadn’t figured out either the wheel or the woolly hat, but now we are better clothed and have warmer caves houses so hair is not really required on heads or bodies. No more nits (yay!) ,no more bad hair days, no more bottles of shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, frizz repair, heat serums cluttering up the bathroom , no more straightening, blowdrying, curling, plaiting, waxing, shaving or plucking. No more unclogging hoovers.

People could have wigs I suppose if they felt the need, but all that extra skin could be put to good use for some colourful and interesting make up art in the summer and nicer hats in the winter.

I think we are not fully adapted to walking upright. Stronger knees, bigger more flexible feet, different pelvis and hips maybe for childbirth.

All humans about the same size and strength.

Get rid of monthly periods.

Stronger teeth to replace every few years.

Ditch the breasts.

Get rid of head hair. Perhaps fur or scales that could be more efficient at warmth/cooling down.

More attraction to food that is actually good for us.

Perhaps a longer gestation so babies are less dependent. A pouch like a marsupial perhaps.

TourmalineGiraffe · 28/04/2023 15:12

I would appreciate it if children would come with a sort of trapdoor in their tummy and food could be placed direct in, no more meal time stress.

TallulahBetty · 28/04/2023 15:12

Childbirth/periods/anything related to gynae would be painless.

TourmalineGiraffe · 28/04/2023 15:13

Not lighthearted but please, please cancer to not exist in any form

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 28/04/2023 15:15

Cancer resistant cells.

Eyesight that doest degrade as you get older.

A natural intolerance to sugar.

And yes to renewing teeth, and more robust joints!

JamSandle · 28/04/2023 15:15

Wings!

TourmalineGiraffe · 28/04/2023 15:18

Feet that changed to flippers/ tail in water

viques · 28/04/2023 15:19

Legs that extend or retract. Ideal for reaching things down from high shelves, or window cleaning the outside windows upstairs but also perfect for sitting in airlines and theatres where the seats have limited leg room. And really useful if like me you can never find trousers the right length and have to shorten them, often unsuccessfully..

TourmalineGiraffe · 28/04/2023 15:20

If we have to poo then we should be able to control exactly when that occurs.
So if half seven in the morning is a good time for you, that’s when you offload.

PolkaDotMankini · 28/04/2023 15:22

A let-down reflex that only makes milk flow to the breast the baby is actually suckling, rather than both at once. That would be great.

PolkaDotMankini · 28/04/2023 15:23

One, standard-issue dick size to give the menfolk one less thing to be idiotic over.

They would find another. Big toe or thumbs would be my guess. Or ears.

SuperSange · 28/04/2023 15:27

I'd make a modification that if you were x height, you weighed z.

Lesina · 28/04/2023 15:29

Rubber collar bones, that bend but don't break. Broken collar bones are horrible.

Cuboidapple · 28/04/2023 15:31

The ability to keep an embryo at a certain stage of development in case you’re not ready for a baby and get pregnant but want to save it ‘for later’!

to get rid of appendixes. Would save the nhs a lot and they are pointless anyway

Arewehumanorarewecupboards · 28/04/2023 15:34

I would like to have an off switch for sleep (and for the dc) but also a recharge switch.

No periods. No menopause.

Men should be able to carry children.

Maybe elasticated skin that pings back after childbirth and breastfeeding.

BlueChampagne · 28/04/2023 15:39

Wings. Or a tail.

ValerieDoonican · 28/04/2023 15:39

ears you can 'switch off' like when you close your eyes

Ear-flaps! Yes! Blissful! would be v useful for showering / swimming too!

ValerieDoonican · 28/04/2023 15:40

A prehensile tail (with a pincer on the end) would also be dead handy in any number of situations

MaryJean87 · 28/04/2023 15:43

Not needing to poo or wee as frequently and farts and poo would not have a smell. It's inconvenient, embarrassing and antisocial unless you're at home.

Stettafire · 28/04/2023 15:45

I'd like to make teeth immune to erosion and self cleaning. Wouldn't need dental checkups then and would only need intervention as a rare case. Also wouldn't need to banger kids to brush their darn teeth!
