@EmotionalStorm, are you the poster who votes to keep your husband's wealth safe?

After the 2019 Corbyn GE debacle -worst results since the 1930s, it was a widely expressed view that Labour would be out of power for a generation

In that context Starmer would be more than exceeding expectations of GE success with a small majority/coalition

IMO he's doing really well

pointythings · 06/05/2023 11:28

@DuncinToffee pretty sure that yes, she is.

Jacob Rees-Mogg is receiving £32,083 a month, or £802 an hour, to host a show on the loss-making GB News.

So are there 2 more councils to declare?

DuncinToffee · 06/05/2023 12:05

No, just the one

Even the Tory MPs do’ t think they are going to win the next election. That’s why they are all standing down so they can spend more time with their families/pet cat/in a shed in the garden.

Which is a downward spiral (hopefully). Their vacuum will suck in even less competent and more crony replacements that will further drag the party down.

For all the bertie big bollocks the Tory shills have been spouting on this and other threads, they would do well to remember that this is a party that was pissing it's pants over a threat that saw 6 councillors from 500 tries. Working with that now public knowledge, I am suspecting that you could destroy the Tory party forever with a fake plastic spider.

Have just caught up. I haven't been on the coronation protest thread as I've been watching the coronation in my bunting clad house.

I guess the last result will be on Tuesday then?

They were all watching it as well. Apparently they couldn’t critique properly if they didn’t watch it. 🙄

I guess you aren't talking about the Coronation protest arrests thread then?

The BBQ and drinks in our street has been cancelled due to the pouring rain, no bunting to be seen.

That protests thread is something else.
We down to leave the country then.

L1ttledrummergirl · 06/05/2023 15:20

I enjoyed it, but growing up as a military brat the Royals have a fond place in my heart, and all that history, the reason that things were done in that way. Trying to place myself back in history to get why they do things that way. So much of our countries history is still meaningful today and tied in with how our political system work.

Has anyone there compared the Kings guard to Sunaks from the other day? They could put clips side by side, we all know God save the King, and I've seen Sunaks had appropriate music attached, from the Benny Hill show.

itsgettingweird · 06/05/2023 15:27

We watched it outside under a marquee and still had a bbq!!!!

It was bloody cold though and we had coats and blankets but great fun.

I'm not particularly bothered about royals either way. Thought Camilla looked stunning in her dress.

For me it was just nice to share the moment with family as it's mums family and today is a year since she came home from the hospital knowing she was dying.

That poster seems very naive

@DuncinToffee I think that's a generous interpretation. Still waiting a suggestion for where I can emigrate to.

DuncinToffee · 06/05/2023 16:22

It definitely is a generous interpretation Grin

Parade was a bit short on bicycles I thought. I’d have put some in there and add some unfit running Met officers.

🧵 👁️

"This is intriguing. Why is there just 1 Council out of 230 outstanding?

Redcar Council👇🏻 says that they’ve agreed to delay a third recount of Longbeck ward until Tuesday morning

According to Teeside Live, Longbeck ward is where CURRENT Cleveland Police and Crime Commissioner Steve Turner is also standing to be a Tory councillor (is it usual to double job?)

AND also standing is his wife Andrea for the Tories

Turner was selected by his wife 🧐
