I was 17 when I lost mine to a guy named Alex. We aren’t in contact anymore.

I was under the age of consent, and so was he. We were together 2 years and he turned very nasty and stalkerish when we broke up. This was because he ‘cheated’ on me. I dumped him. He followed me around for a year and showed up to my work repeatedly. The police were involved and he threatened to hurt himself.

It’s a lot for a young teen- all of those feelings and adult emotions. No doubt he was feeling a touch of that too when we weren’t together any more.

My family were stricter, but his were very keen for us to play house at theirs, which made it worse.

I really don’t understand why parents facilitate these very adult relationships. Looking back on it was really bloody awful. I should have been doing sports or something more positive.

I am not in contact with him any more but he is one person I am really scared to run into.
