Grudges you continue to hold

Just drive a different way home, past a car wash and remembered how I refuse to use it on principle 😂
Years ago, I was in a hurry and no one in front - as I drove in, and was being 'washed' by one of the chaps, the one in charge allowed someone to jump the queue as they were 'in a hurry' and 'just wanted a spritz' - nope, they reversed all the way back, had everything, and I sat fuming at the the queue jumpy enablement.
Refuse to go back, I'm sure they are disappointed 😂

Lol in my day to day life I generally don't hold grudges but I saw a man the other day who, prior to lockdown, had sped round a corner at about 50mph and nearly hit my car as I was pulling out of a side road. Then we both ended up in the same shop and he shouted and roared at me about it as if it was my fault. I just ignored him.

When I saw him again recently, I surprised myself with the amount of venom I had in my thoughts for him. Like, I saw him and just thought no illness or tragedy would be too great for him to suffer. I know, it's a horrible thing to think, but I thought it anyway!

OneFrenchEgg · 17/04/2023 19:36

I feel that is quite relatable. None of my grudges have any real rationality. And I've forgiven lots of things way worse.

There are many. I am a bitter and vengeful person😃
Evil manager. My 5 hour exit interview resulted in his suspension and subsequent sacking. Still hate him and haven't forgiven him even though his career is now over.

TheOtherBennetSister · 17/04/2023 20:59

I haven't worked for Julie for 4 years now but I still flick the Vs at her building on the odd occasion I drive past.

mommybear1 · 17/04/2023 21:03

I boycott a lot of shops for poor service 😂. One chain of chemists in particular I will never purchase from again - went in when pregnant with DS - visibly pregnant asked to purchase a tubigrip for my dodgy knee an injury that I had pre pregnancy- Pharmacist was on lunch and the counter staff refused to serve me. I literally had picked the item up from an open shelf not behind the counter etc and they just would not serve me and were very rude to boot. I give them the v sign whenever I pass in the car 🤣.

Lazydazey · 17/04/2023 21:08

Started work at a Car company on the graduate scheme, gave it my all, got made redundant 2 and a bit years in. No notice, just you are being made redundant this morning, please clear your desk and you’ll be escorted off the premises in the next hour. Return your car in 1mth. I’d bought my first flat 2 months before , and they left me waiting in the corridor for 20 minutes in floods of tears before I could pick up my cheque from personnel. I swore then I’d never have anything to do with them and 30+ years later they offer one of the few cars I’d be interested in buying, but I won’t go near .. and neither will my husband. It makes no difference to them but makes me feel better !

Mosaic123 · 17/04/2023 21:10

Over 50 years ago my Mum used to send me to a local food shop (a Jewish deli) to buy smoked salmon. They hand cut it in front of you. I had my money in hand and they served adults behind me in the queue. I was too shy to stand up for myself.

I swore I would never go to that shop when I was an adult.

I never did.

sarahh96 · 17/04/2023 21:17

I got ticketed in Tesco car park for staying too long. I refused to shop there again until I realised that them not having my weekly shop was probably not having any effect on they're profits at all.
I still shop there but now walk around the aisles with my best resting bitch face on just to let them know they haven't got away with it 😂

Ledkr · 17/04/2023 21:17

My pil for ruining my first night home with dd by insisting on sleeping over.
I'll never forget trying to go to the toilet while fil paced outside asking how long I'd be. AGES MATE, THIS.IS WHY I ASKED YOU NOT TO STAY. 😡

Nowaysunshine · 17/04/2023 21:24

Here's a corker for you - I have had a long held grudge against Lulu for marrying 'my' Bee Gee and then they bloody divorced. Totally illogical but I was quite young and still can't abide her - funnily enough my kids aren't keen on her either - some sort of projection involved obviously - oh dear. When he died my mother rang as soon as she heard and said 'your bee gees died' 😆

My ex boss. I'll hate him til the day I die!

Easterfunbun · 17/04/2023 21:32

Haven holidays. Utterly shit and double the price these days.

Catsmere · 17/04/2023 21:35

The neighbour who started on about how she hates cats and told a story about cruelty that’s her purported reason for it when I moved in and mentioned I have two indoor cats. Will never trust her and when she moans about her migraines I just think “zero sympathy.”

Theunamedcat · 17/04/2023 21:36

Still hold a grudge against ex mil for rearranging MY CUTLERY DRAW when I was in hospital for a couple of nights with ds3 she also ran the dishwasher with one bowl in it rewashed my clean washing (she knew it was clean) and washed his bottles daily (what's wrong with that you may ask?) A, he was in hospital there was no need to keep washing and sterilising CLEAN bottles B, she scrubbed them so much she took the numbers off and C, she trashed the steriliser (no idea how) rendering it useless so I came home with a sick kid to a cold house (she used all the gas on the meter "washing up" before she put the bowl in the dishwasher) not a lot of electric and the thing that tipped me over the edge was my rearranged cutlery draw! I tried to make a cup of tea nearly cut my fingers off (she put the sharp knives in my teaspoon spot) and she threw away the unopened still in date milk because it had been in the fridge for three days (unopened) I might have shouted

thenightsky · 17/04/2023 21:37

A petrol station in my nearest city. The kiosk assistant accused me, loudly, in front of a huge queue, of using my mobile phone whilst filling up. He was wrong. My phone was in my handbag on the back seat. He thought because I used 2 hands to squeeze the lever, I was holding my phone low down to secretly text. I did shout at him that he was a fool who should go to specsavers. I've never filled up there again and this was at least 10 years ago! Grin

Mumtobabyhavoc · 17/04/2023 21:42

Prior to the pandemic whenever I'd walk to a particular location of my gym which was next to a "Trump" branded hotel I'd raise my arm up high and give the hotel the one-finger salute as I walked past while staring straight ahead (because obviously). The hotel finally dropped the name. You're welcome.

DustyLee123 · 17/04/2023 21:43

I carry a very large sack of grudges with me at all times 🤣🤣

TroysMammy · 17/04/2023 21:45

Had a run in with a bloke 5 doors away, can't bear to call him a neighbour, when he decided to park his works van in front of my car, blocking me in. Every time I'm outside and see him in his van or car I always mutter "cunt". When closing my bedroom curtains every night and seeing his parked up vehicles I say cunt out loud.

MeMyCatsAndMyBooks · 17/04/2023 21:46

My mil.
She didn't meet ds2 for three weeks when he was born, that wasn't really an issue but she refused because she stressed me out that much over something so small and ridiculous she put me into early labour with him.
She still does it to this day has periods where she refuses to talk to us. And is doing it as we speak!
I'm civil with her for DHs sake, otherwise I'd be running for the hills.

I understand your pharmacy grudge but if there's only one pharmacist on duty and it's their break they are not allowed to sell you anything. However they could have explained it! I only know this because my sister worked in a pharmacy - I've always (and still do) thought this is ludicrous!

Kissedbyfire1 · 17/04/2023 21:52

Kwik-Fit. Took my car there years ago for MOT. Passed, but there were a couple of jobs that it needed (not MOT-related). Chap refused to let me take the car unless I had the work done, by them, that day. I was beside myself. He tried to say that he couldn’t let me take the car as it was dangerous (passed the MOT and work was largely cosmetic) and he wanted to discuss it with my husband Shock. DH phoned them and said he was coming to get the car. End of discussion. I will never ever use them again and badmouth them at every opportunity.

I’m firmly in the well-adjusted category! One former colleague will remain top of my list of “if I could get away with murder”.

There are others.

mommybear1 · 17/04/2023 21:54

@twanmever well I didn't know that! I understood from the rude assistant it was because I was pregnant and the pharmacist needed to approve the sale despite the fact it wasn't an otc item. I don't understand why the don't just close then if they can't sell anything? They did also serve others in the shop at the time so I was fairly livid at their poor customer service 😂.
