For me it’s the utterly obscure baby names. We’ve all seen them and I’m quite sure nobody uses them in real life. Yet on MN, it’s apparently standard.

Honourable mention to the 50% of posters whose husbands are earning upwards of £100K too.

Transphobia and how if you support trans rights you can't possibly be a feminist. I was raised by the most kick ass fantastic feminist ever but I still support trans rights.

The abbreviations! Is it really so difficult to write husband, daughter, father, or friend?

Even worse when it's not actually an abbreviation. Ddog, Dcat...

Child said something mean to your child in the playground
Straight into the school scream blue murder their child is being bullied. Demanding the school do something immediately

Meantime, John and Paul have forgotten their argument and playing away

But mother is down the police station reporting a hate crime because John pointed out paul has big ears or some else completely ridiculous

Is that why the Beatles split up?

'Reverse'
'interesting first post'
'nc not to be outing'
'are you sure they don't have autism/adhd'
'Just get a nanny/cleaner'
'how dare 2 similar age siblings share a bedroom'

Just to name a few 😂

You forgot the hollow legged kids so skinny you can see their ribs (always have to say you can see their ribs) who can put away ten tonnes of food per day. Plus obviously the ‘tall, strapping’ teen boys who eat a loaf of bread with every meal. And they play rugby too!

I always think MN is full of “ sensible, sporty teens”

Sheisperfect · 31/03/2023 22:25

Oh and the bloody abbreviations

Ripping people apart over something tiny

I hate this. You have to write a full list of disclaimers in your first post.

The teenagers who are permitted to basically eat everything in sight.
the obsession with co sleeping and the often churned out phrase ‘millions in other parts of the world co sleep’. There’s a more practical reason for that!
And the worst, how ‘normal’ it is for 3 and 4 year olds to be in nappies during the day and how they’re showing no signs of being ‘ready’. That’ll be because you’ve trained them to shit and pee themselves fgs.

RedRosie · 31/03/2023 22:27

@Houseyvibe sometimes it's golf.

Although usually it's cycling. 😁

Walldoorwindow · 31/03/2023 22:27

Houseyvibe · 31/03/2023 22:07

It’s cycling. Always.

This is far too common to be identifying.

I'm going with Morris dancing.

What about “do you not care about the environment?” (For having children) any post where someone has more than 1.9 children.

I always think MN is full of “ sensible, sporty teens”

I always imagine a group of jolly sensible Malory towers types coming along to be jolly little athletic bullies while eating three loaves of bread per day and not caring about any of the modern fashions because the coolest clothes are those you can pinch from mum’s wardrobe or pick up at the charity shop.

JamSandle · 31/03/2023 22:29

I really hate any variation of 'washing it down with a nice glass of wine'.

Makes my stomach curdle!

WitheredandOld · 31/03/2023 22:30

Have you had them assessed? Sounds like it could be (insert diagnosis here).

Maybe they are just naughty or bored.

Posters who find one tiny detail in the OP and rip it to shreds while completely ignoring the intent of the post.

The serious lack of comprehension skills. Asking questions clearly addressed by the OP.

Posters pretending to be confused by an OP that has been written by someone that clearly struggles to write coherently. It’s so petty.

Harsh. At least those posters are supporting different views. There is absolutely no issue with both cosleeping and not toilet training early, especially if you actually look at child development and what is best for them. Ideally we do what’s best for the kid and don’t cause all these longterm issues like encopresis.

FunnysInLaJardin · 31/03/2023 22:33

The rampant transphobia against trans women.

Newnamenewname109870 · 31/03/2023 22:33

The number of people who will come on and defend lax parenting when children are being a pain in the arse in public and parents are on their phones instead of supervising their kids.
