Anne Kirkbride years ago in a department store. Can't remember the character she played but she was in Coronation Street.

@freyagi Deidre Barlow 😉

WhyOhWine · 23/03/2023 11:49

Katie Price (with Alex Reid and Harvey), Cillian Murphy and Andrea Loathsome in airport check in queues (separate occasions, not all in the one queue!)

chesterelly1 · 23/03/2023 11:50

Sean Connery when I was at high school. All I could think was that he had a very sun weathered wrinkly neck just like my grandad. He was buying batteries.

Shampern · 23/03/2023 11:51

Hardly A listers, but Mark Wright in Costa and Stacey Solomon in Waitrose, loud Cat Slater (Jessie?) in M & S. (I live in Essex!) Some politician at Heathrow, but I can't remember his name.

freyagi · 23/03/2023 11:52

Many of the cast of Hollyoaks (apparently) in the airport, queuing to board, coming back from Marbella.

Had no idea who they were but it was pointed out.

freyagi · 23/03/2023 11:53

Deirdre! That's it.
Thanks @Netaporter @Phos

Archbishop of Canterbury (Rowan Williams) in M&S Canterbury

Sue Barker in the hairdressers.

Once went in a toilet cubicle vacated by Susan Tully (Eastenders / Grange Hill) Grin

Judge Rinder in the pick and mix queue at Wimbledon

Gary Lineker on a plane, and when he sat down, next to young rather awe-stricken lad, he introduced himself and shook the young lad's hand, chatted away to him and put him at ease.

Unlike when I had the awful misfortune of sitting next to Chris Eubank at a function who actually turned his chair and back on me. Vile, vile, rude man and he was giving his date/companion the evil eye all night as soon as she took a sip of wine or ate a morsel of food. Such a controlling prick.

Frauhubert · 23/03/2023 12:07

Elle Macpherson in a cafe. She was rude to the staff

Janefondashair · 23/03/2023 12:08

Tara Fitzgerarld queue jumped me in Spar about 20 years ago, asking if they had any Champagne

Robert Winston on a flight at Bristol Airport. He had a Gold BA loyalty luggage tag

Gloria Hunniford on an Easyjet flight at Edinburgh Airport. After the flight we had to get on shuttle buses and me and the DC got a bit lost and were rushing. The buses were all crowded and on the first one Gloria was standing in the entrance way, and I though there was no way I could ask Gloria Hunniford to squeeze in and make room, so I made us go to the next bus. I am still not sure why no-one offered her a seat as she must be in her 80s.

Maerchentante · 23/03/2023 12:09

Richard E. Grant at Waitrose and at Barclay's. They offered to open a counter just for him at the bank and he refused.

Axel Scheffler (Gruffalo Artist) at the bus stop when we were both going to the same event.

TossieFleacake · 23/03/2023 12:09

Micheal Van Gerwyn, darts champ, at Schipol airport.
Pretty sure he farted before he walked away and I walked into the cloud of smell.

MonumentalLentil · 23/03/2023 12:15

Linda Robson in IKEA
Bruce Forsyth in Selfridges
Barbara Windsor in Selfridges
Sally Dexter in B&Q
Stephen Tompkinson in a different B&Q
Tony Robinson in the pub
Helen Worth in a cafe blocking the way

I have queued a lot, it seems, probably missed a few too.

WildAloofRebel · 23/03/2023 12:16

Stephen Fry in the wings at the BAFTAs #bragadociousalert

Alan Rickman at the theatre (him and me both audience)

GhostOrchid · 23/03/2023 11:40

Charles Dance in Waitrose (he was buying satsumas and Christmas wrapping paper)
Gordon Brown in the Treasury canteen (not that surprising given he was chancellor at the time)
Dexter Fletcher in a branch of Leon buying a fishmonger wrap
Maureen Lipman was a few people behind us in the queue for the theatre a few months ago.

Ooh Charles Dance buying sainsburys wrapping paper seems so...right. Not ostentatious, aesthetically pleasing yet convenient. 🤌

DeoForty · 23/03/2023 12:18

Oh Waitrose FFS! Can tell my pleb mind was on Sainsburys.

FrenchandSaunders · 23/03/2023 12:21
