Ever queued behind anyone famous? I once queued up in Boots behind Wendy Craig,

OP posts:

I was in a few different queues in front and behind Bradley Coper with his child at a water park in Dubai. He smelled amazing, like very clean and fresh aftershave.

Behind Colleen Rooney checking in at the Jet 2 desk in Manchester airport with her mum and her boys. The children were very well behaved.

We were in front of Rowan Atkinson leaving the theatre at an event at my DC’s university.

Not queuing but often in the same restaurants as premiership footballers where I live, most of them I wouldn’t know who they were if I fell over them but DH always spots them.

redspottedmug · 23/03/2023 16:10

No, but I used to queue to order my deli sandwich from Kate Winslet.

redspottedmug · 23/03/2023 16:12

Actually just remembered that Michael Portillo let me queue jump when I was buying champagne in an off licence on Victoria Street.
Which was very kind as my friends' wedding double decker bus was crawling through traffic just outside

StellaOlivetti · 23/03/2023 16:15

I was behind Lionel Blair at the cigarette counter in Safeway once.

LovedFedAndNoonesDead · 23/03/2023 16:23

Thought of a couple more….

Not queueing behind but sat next to Keith Baron at a flu jab clinic with DM.

Mick Hucknell used to shop in the Waitrose near my old office so would often see him out and about.

MadameOvary81 · 23/03/2023 16:31

Paul Merton was behind me in the queue at Waitrose Tottenham court road once. I was taken aback by how tall he was! I always assumed he was short. Probably because he's always sitting behind a desk. lol

Also stood behind Pierce Brosnan in the gift shop at the Natural History Museum in London. He has a face like thunder. Not sure what had upset him.

FredaFox · 23/03/2023 16:33

Grace Dent in Starbucks

GuyFawkesDay · 23/03/2023 16:34

Chris Eubank in our local Sainsbury's. He lives nearby so we see the Bentley parked up regularly.

I've been beside Kevin Bridges at a bar in Glasgow waiting to be served. Probably not that unusual in Glasgow tbf.

I was once at an airport and there was a call out for a passenger to make their flight before the gate closed. I can't even remember exactly who it was now but it was a name like Brigitte Bardot as it was a classic actress's name but not one that random people were likely to have. I never did see who it was who had to make that flight, for all I know it could have been an airport secret security message for something. 😂

This one is a bit different but many years ago I was at a local nightclub and got separated from my friends. I saw a queue and thought it was for a bar so joined it. Before I knew it I was meeting Michael Greco (Beppe from EastEnders). He gave me a kiss on the cheek and a signed photo and was really lovely. I've never really watched EastEnders though. 😂

MyGirlDaisy · 23/03/2023 16:42

Queuing for hotel lift with James Cracknell, he was really lovely and insisted that my children and I go ahead of him.

Ringmaster27 · 23/03/2023 16:45

My DS ran face first into the back of Kit Harrington’s (Jon Snow from Game of Thrones) legs when he was a toddler. We were heading towards the queue in a farm shop, DS was toddling in front of me. He ran into KH’s legs, fell over, was put back on his feet by KH and they proceeded to have an in depth chat about DS’s triceratops toy until we reached the tills 😂

addictedtotheflats · 23/03/2023 16:49

Amy Winehouse in an empty bar behind oxford street in the middle of the afternoon. I was a student nurse just finished a placement at the heart hospital and went for a drink after work. She was lovely, RIP Amy

Whatineed · 23/03/2023 16:51

Yes, behind Paul Whitehouse and daughter in a queue for BK at a service station, she was a cutie.

At the bar in Camden waiting for a drink next to Leigh Frances in a gig for Pucho and his Latin Soul Brothers.

Behind Marc Wootton (Mr Poppy) in M&S foodhall Oxford Street.

The English rugby club waiting to go into a party at the grosvenor hotel in London the year they won the RWC.
I remember standing in line to get into our party next to these massive men and they all had the same shoes on and I thought it was so strange that all these huge men would wear the same shoes.

Anyway. Later on after one too many a few of us sneaked into the televised event and the men got their shirts signed and I got a napkin signed then promptly got told by security to get back to my own party 😂

syrupsoup · 23/03/2023 17:22

Rugby team*!

Arniesleftleg · 23/03/2023 17:32

No exactly queued but sat behind in the car.

We go to Cornwall a fair bit, it's our happy place. Last summer we went over to Rock and were driving up to the top car park to find a space and ended up driving behind an Aston Martin that was driving slowly along the main drag. My hubby commented that it looked like Gordon Ramsey. I wasn't sure until we saw his arm hanging out of the window. I didn't realise he was about 6ft5 and this was a long arm. As we drove behind him back up the main drag literally everyone was staring at the car and then at him. He pulled into his house after so had probably only done about 500 metres in his car....1.5 million pounds worth of car 😳. It was definitely him as the number plate was 4 AMC.

When I was younger I ended up being in the gym spa shower with Frank Bruno!

Arniesleftleg · 23/03/2023 17:35

@GuyFawkesDay he visits our area a fair bit and his favourite Indian restaurant is local to us. He often parks his massive car in the middle of the pedestrian part of town! I guess a parking ticket isn't an issue to him 🤣

Yes!
At Glastonbury a very beautiful and dainty nikki graeme, shouting at the woman making her toast for buttering the bread.
She said, "I specifically asked you for no butter!" And she was whiny and dramatic which on someone else would have seemed proper horrid.
She just seemed distressed as opposed to being rude. Heartbreaking with hindsight.
Also at same Glastonbury at the early hours of the morning I was going the toilet and met dick of dick and dom fame, a group of absolutely hammered teenagers convinced him to go back their tent to wake up their sleeping friend by shouting bogies at them.
He was really fun. And actually very handsome!

I love this!!
’Bogiiieees!!’

LawksaMercyMissus · 23/03/2023 17:40

Chris Evans in Superdrug (I didn't make any toothbrush jokes)
Pauline Collins queuing for an ice cream

JustDanceAddict · 23/03/2023 17:51

At the traffic lights next to Steve McFadden - he drives classic cars (or did!). Used to live near-ish to me.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 23/03/2023 17:51

I sat on the next table to Layton Williams, and all the rest of the cast of the musical he was in at the time, in Costa.

inky1991 · 23/03/2023 18:04

Kelsey Grammar, in an posh ice cream parlour in Greece

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 23/03/2023 18:05

Morrisey in the Hacienda. Mick Hucknall also in the Hacuenda.

AnnoyedFromSlough · 23/03/2023 18:17

Dylan Moran in M&S at Edinburgh Airport. Only realised it was him when I heard him speak to his wife.

LyndaSnellsSniff · 23/03/2023 18:18

Stood next to Roger Black at the print-your-own photo booths. Very tall. Red body warmer.
