Do you know any adult who still does that?

One of my friends and his brother still walk the stairs in their house on all four.

They're both in their mid twenties.

They seem to think it's completely normal and everyone does that!

Is it?

Oh yes I am nearly sixty and still do this 😍

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 21/03/2023 18:14

I used to, just for fun. We live in a bungalow now so no opportunity, sadly. It's completely harmless, why would you not?

viques · 21/03/2023 18:17

Chance would be a fine thing. There is nearly always something waiting on the bottom step to be taken upstairs, so unless I carry it in my teeth I have to walk upright.

PurpleWisteria1 · 21/03/2023 18:09

Why!!?

Why not?

viques · 21/03/2023 18:19

I sometimes walk downstairs backwards if my knee is giving me issues. Seems to put less stress on it. I do hold onto the bannister though.

MattressKing4 · 21/03/2023 18:21

Yep I do it when no one is looking 😁

MysteryBelle · 21/03/2023 18:24

If I saw an able bodied adult do this, I’d think they had a screw loose.

For the able bodied people who do this (if you have a mobility issue or physical ailment then no one’s asking you, the thread is directed toward able bodied people), do you do it in public? If not, why not? You say it’s perfectly normal. But you don’t do it in public because you know it’s disturbing.

Spangasspikeywig · 21/03/2023 18:24

Never ever saw anyone do this who wasn't in nappies.

BUT..

I will give it a try tonight before bed just in case I am missing out.

SorryButThatsAFact · 21/03/2023 18:25

Depends how much wine I've had

Lachimolala · 21/03/2023 18:26

I do this all the time, it’s great fun 😂 also it just kind of happens, my stairs are practically vertical and if I set off at speed . .

Never in front of anyone though!

PurpleWisteria1 · 21/03/2023 18:27

flutterbyebaby · 21/03/2023 18:17

Why not?

Because it’s far far easier, quicker and more comfortable to just walk down assuming you are able bodied?

LlynTegid · 21/03/2023 18:28

No. Each to their own, it's harmless.

Lachimolala · 21/03/2023 18:29

LittleGreenDuck · 21/03/2023 17:44

It's definitely unusual, but I'm tempted to give it a go.

These people who think it's totally normal, do they also scamper up stairs in public places?

Well no I wouldn’t do it in public, doesn’t mean it’s not normal to others though.

Cutting toenails, picking noses, having a wee is all normal too. Still would pull up a chair and start cutting my trotters in the middle of Tesco though . . 😂

Does one always have to take the easiest route?

Disturbing? Fair enough to not get why people do it, but You’ve not got out much if you find that disturbing.

The answer is no I don’t do it elsewhere. Do you not have anything that you do in the privacy of your own home that wouldn’t do in public?

I have never ever heard of this

Same here. How very weird.

Redglitter · 21/03/2023 18:41

Oh charming!!

CustardySergeant · 21/03/2023 18:41

"Still would pull up a chair and start cutting my trotters in the middle of Tesco though"

You would? I hope you don't go to the same Tesco I go to then.

KillingLoneliness · 21/03/2023 18:41

Ahh I’m 33 and I still do this on a daily basis! 🤣🤣🤣

ReliantRobyn · 21/03/2023 18:41

There's a lot of dirty dogs here who need training

Mooshroo · 21/03/2023 18:44

I’m surprised my husband hasn’t started doing this to avoid all the crap I pile on the stairs to be carried up next time someone goes up 🤣

monsterradeliciosa · 21/03/2023 18:46

I've never known anyone to do this

Needanewnamebeingwatched · 21/03/2023 18:46

Bunnyhascovidnoteggs · 21/03/2023 16:11

Men who admit to sitting down to wee make me flinch.. Urgh....

Why, its bloody lovely

Clean bathroom

Emotionalsupportviper · 21/03/2023 18:48

I do it occasionally, but that is because my knees give out.

When I had young, strong, sturdy knees, I never did.
