Just a general chat about what gifts people received for Mother's Day?

I got some nice flowers and a bottle of Golden Dusk perfume by Sunnamusk.

A card from one, a phone call from one and a text from the other. I'm quite happy!

Norachance · 19/03/2023 20:44

Flowers, a box of macarons, bath oil, a new mug, a jar of lavender honey. Had a relaxing day too so very happy.

CryptoQueen · 19/03/2023 20:47

Some things for the veg patch, breakfast in bed, and some home-made cards. It has been a lovely day.

A Snapchat (DS2), a phone call (DS1), card is in the post.
DS2 has offered to do more stuff around the house.
And a lovely message from a friend; not about Mother's Day but I think just being kind as she knows I'm a lone parent without my own mum.

ShortColdandGrey · 19/03/2023 20:49

Breakfast in bed, flowers, chocolates, and 3 homemade cards telling me how much she loves me

Judellie · 19/03/2023 20:50

Lots of yummy chocolate, Caramac, Frys chocolate cream (the good ones in the blue wrapper, not the awful green ones), a lovely little bar of Aldi choceur, lovely little ornament of 2 bears that says 'Hugs with Mummy' and 2 cards.
DH was also persuaded by the kids to add to this at the garden centre so that was a jar of heather honey, some fudge and a pot of parsley.
Best of all tho was a walk with my family up to see the primroses, a Mothers Day tradition of mine. Today followed by a lovely meal out and garden centre visit.
Saw my mum yesterday and I bought her a Coronation Street quiz/puzzle book and some cherry blossom scented washing machine tabs in a cardboard box rather than a plastic one (what she wanted and very practical).
My brother saw her today and took lunch of shepherd pie to eat with her plus a bunch of daffodils and a box of Milk Tray.
My sister went on Friday and took a peace lily, afternoon tea in a box and a specially made chicken pie.

Homemade card as requested from my eldest (22) giant hug from my youngest (20), card was on her list to make but didn't get to the top of the list. She has physical and mental issues and they are both ND. The did take me out for dinner on Friday and we saw a band. They both texted me lovely messages today. Totally happy with my day.

OhThatChicken · 19/03/2023 20:53

Some barefoot shoes, a box of baklava and a lovely brunch out with my mum in tow too. Feeling very lucky with my lot!

ChocolateTea · 19/03/2023 20:55

A card and a little pen. We don’t really “do” Mother’s Day, never have done more than a card and a token thing. Just chuffed DS sorted it himself for him and his brother.

AlltheFs · 19/03/2023 20:56

3 bars of my favourite choc, flowers and a small canvas painting (made by DD at nursery) plus a nursery made card, in which DD has written her name for the first time. Well played nursery-I cried! She is 3.

DH also cooked my lunch of choice (fillet steak).

Top day!

These threads always make those having a shit day feel 👌

The titles pretty clear about what the contents of the thread are.

Cas112 · 19/03/2023 21:01

Flowers and chocolate and taken for a lovely meal x

TantrumsAndBalloons · 19/03/2023 21:03

All 3 of my grown up children have discovered a website called Hood Greetings which have the funniest cards, so I got 3 amazing cards, dinner out with DD and tickets to GBBO the musical for me and dd next week
ds1 is in New York working and Ds2 is at uni so they both face timed me

Gobimanchurian · 19/03/2023 21:07

Flowers, neutrogena hand cream, Burt's bees foot cream, sweets (veggie Percy pigs my fave) and some flavoured artisan gins. The first year my teens have entirely sorted themselves without their dad pulling it together, was super impressed 🥰

RenoDakota · 19/03/2023 21:07

Brontë jigsaw, bottle of wine and two thoughtful cards. Had to drive to them due to train strike probs, picking son up from his uni city and driving to my daughter's uni city, where they paid for a meal out.
Lovely day.

Cornishclio · 19/03/2023 21:09

Flowers, champagne, chocolates and smellies from one DD and theatre tickets from the other 😀

MamaMiaOhDear · 19/03/2023 21:21

A wispa gold 🤣

Carouselfish · 19/03/2023 21:25

A clay model of a dolphin and a snake (by DD7 who for some reason thinks a dolphin is my spirit animal and a snake is hers?!?!), a little soft bear, flowers and chocolates. And lovely cards.
I gave my mum a sparkly lamp after going round and round the shops blindly for hours knowing that she hates anything I like, taste-wise and finally remembering at the last minute that she does like things that sparkle!

DueyCheatemAndHow · 19/03/2023 21:27

Had a really tough day with our 4 year old, just don't actually want to be a mum right now. But DH was lovely, I got an Olivia Burton watch and the kids made lots of things, DH has done everything today and we went to a lovely pub for a meal.

Mittens1717 · 19/03/2023 21:37

Pandora bracelet from my eldest DD, flowers, chocs and cards from my youngest DD, and a beautiful lunch cooked by my DH, had a lovely day 🥰

Namechange192727171 · 19/03/2023 21:40

From my youngest (thanks DH!) a card, flowers, smellies and chocolates.

From my eldest a card and chocs which she chose and bought with her own money.

The best gift of all was a hug off my eldest as she has autism, I nearly cried with happiness after a 12 hour shift.

Cherryblossoms85 · 19/03/2023 21:42

Nothing.

An argument- for getting upset that I got nothing for my first ever Mother’s Day. And obviously cuddles with my precious baby starting at 03:30 😂❤️

Yes, I remember my 1st mothers day, I didn't get anything. Apparently getting picked up from a hen weekend was my present. I kept thinking all day, he's joking, everytime he went outside or left the room I honestly thought he was going to come back in with a bunch of flowers. I'd asked for a £5 mug from asda a few weeks before, which I ended up buying in the sale a week or so later. I was so disappointed that day. I got a bunch of flowers today, and we went out for breakfast yesterday. It was my 11th mother's day so he's definitely improved, although I'm pissed off I had to make dinner this evening.

IamSarah · 19/03/2023 21:45

Woken up and force fed a bowl of cereal at 6am.
