Just a general chat about what gifts people received for Mother's Day?

I got some nice flowers and a bottle of Golden Dusk perfume by Sunnamusk.

An argument- for getting upset that I got nothing for my first ever Mother’s Day. And obviously cuddles with my precious baby starting at 03:30 😂❤️

MaryJean87 · 19/03/2023 19:58

Lilies, tulips, plant in a basket, wine, chocolate, wine glass.

I'm sorry to hear that, that's awful. Hopefully your husband/ partner I assume has learned his lesson going forwards.

Lots of cards,3 bunches of flowers and a lovely new dress.

Also got breakfast in bed and a lovely steak with Diane sauce for dinner followed by my favourite ice cream and our DD19 is taking me out for lunch in the week.

A pan (which I wanted!)
flowers my Autistic DS chose for me himself
dd made me a bag at nursery with a drawing of her and I on it
ds1 says he ordered me something but it’s not arrived yet

SwimmingFree · 19/03/2023 20:02

Kids 11 and 7 chose me some chocolates, a bath bomb, a mug and some mummy socks. Two homemade cards. Love it all Smile

Nits from my 2 year old 🤦🏻‍♀️

ThreeRingCircus · 19/03/2023 20:02

Cards, a scented candle and lunch out. Perfect!

BroomHandledMouser · 19/03/2023 20:03

Cards, a nice candle and some bath stuff.

I also got an afternoon nap and a Kentucky for tea 😁

Lulu1919 · 19/03/2023 20:04

Massage voucher and a huge bunch of tulips

ozoruk1 · 19/03/2023 20:04

A Lancôme gift set and chocolates and 2 lovely cards!

LancashireSquirrel · 19/03/2023 20:07

Some lovely cards made at school/brownies, daffodils, some little bracelets they'd made and a card and choccies (bought by DH).

Doyouthinktheyknow · 19/03/2023 20:08

I have 2 young adult dses.

For the past couple of years I’ve been lucky to get one card but this year I got 2 cards and a box of choccies from ds1. And they both paid for their own cards, normally DH has had to pay and even that hasn’t persuaded them to bother🤣

I’m not that bothered by Mother’s Day to be honest but it has been nice that both ds has made an effort. Feel like we are coming out of the other side of the ‘teen’ years and linked behavior after a very long time!

Kleptronic · 19/03/2023 20:08

A really decent bottle of wine. From an actual wine shop. I was touched because I make do with the cheap wine. Well I say make do, it's hardly a make do situation, but you know what I mean.

Vintagevixen · 19/03/2023 20:09

Nothing - single parent, teen DD to whom Mother's Day is not important!

Oh well... maybe in 10 years time when she's matured a bit!

MajesticWhine · 19/03/2023 20:10

A bunch of flowers and a piece of cake (bought).
No cards, but the DD that doesn't live at home says she's sent one. Maybe it will come tmrw.

Its2amimustbelonely · 19/03/2023 20:10

A lie in, a candle and some sweets. DH took DS (6) to soft play so they didn't get back til lunch. Then I was told to be ready for 2pm and got dropped off for a full body aromatherapy massage! Tbf, I've been dealing with a lot at work and very ill Mum so it was a lovely opportunity to unwind and very much appreciated.

Creamcrackered10 · 19/03/2023 20:11

Mixed bag, sweet poems written by DC at school. DH chocs he's eaten most of, smellies that looked like they'd been won on a tombola and a fake cheap perfume that's probably made with cat wee. We are not hard up so it really does feel like a slap in the face. A few daffodils/plant and a chocolate bar I was allowed to eat, would have been ample. It's the complete lack of any thought that hurts. Needless to say the perfume and toiletries have been binned (potential health hazard if nothing else) .

DCs started sweetly with a bowl of cereal in bed but have quickly fallen into old habits with trails of muddy sportswear through the house, general bickering, refusing to do homework or pick any of their cr*p up. DH is watching football and completely oblivious. I've come to bed, exhausted and teary.

Cherryblossom1985 · 19/03/2023 20:12

A card with a lovely message inside, my favourite cake from M&S and a surprise pina colada cocktail.

Vivario · 19/03/2023 20:13

I read through this thread and very nearly went to start an argument with DP over not taking young DS out to get me anything😂 but he has ADHD and is otherwise lovely so I’ll let him off!

I did get a beautiful card that DS made at school though, he adores me and the message inside absolutely melted my heart💕

BellePeppa · 19/03/2023 20:13

Nothing because I tell them now not to buy me a card or present. My eldest sent me a text though and my son who still lives at home cooked dinner with me. (Or at least he sat in the kitchen and chatted with me while I cooked 😁).

PamDoooove · 19/03/2023 20:14

A beautiful necklace and matching earrings which were exactly my taste, chocolates, flowers, cakes and cards. Plus a lie in and afternoon off. Feel very loved and lucky, DH always makes sure this day is a good one (DC are still little).

Jenniferturkington · 19/03/2023 20:14

Full set of cards, some tulips, chocolates, a plant, and a homemade cheesecake. Happy day 😊

Babyroobs · 19/03/2023 20:15

An afternoon tea voucher at a place that does top of the range afternoon tea, a bottle of Prosecco, some chocolates and an orchid. presents were from the two eldest ds's, the others got me nothing as both broke !

Carsarelife · 19/03/2023 20:15

A selection of different teas, a small bear, a pen, water bottle and a fancy lunch with wine
