Uncultured opinions thread

A thread for those of us who have less refined tastes.

No arguing please, like the unpopular opinions thread please respect the uncultured opinions.

I'll start;

Oscar nominated films are often boring and rubbish. I'd rather watch old episodes of Gavin and Stacey or Ghosts. (I'll make an exception for Titanic, the greatest film of all time)

I hate opera music. The singers have unnatural, weird voices - they sound ridiculous.

luxuryisforme · 14/03/2023 19:04

I'm with you on that , even the Ultimate Girl's trips

Even Cheshire! 😂

RampantIvy · 14/03/2023 19:09

Chocolate is something I can take or leave. I don't understand how anyone can be addicted to it.

begoneday · 14/03/2023 19:09

Sub titled films are not worth the effort.

begoneday · 14/03/2023 19:10

Jazz makes zero sense and is not real music. In my opinion 😂

Franticbutterfly · 14/03/2023 19:12

@maddy68 I should've been more clear...Asda has changed their recipe. Tiger bread is more like domestic mog bread now. Sad times.

DojaPhat · 14/03/2023 19:12

Competitive uncleanliness is not a badge of honour. Have a wash.

DavesSpareDeckChair · 14/03/2023 19:14

I love all-inclusive holidays in sunny countries in hotel complexes where everyone speaks English and everything is geared towards British tourists!
I have done my fair share of holidaying in places where only "the locals" go and I'm the only tourist or the only english speaker, living and eating like a local, learning the language and customs, going for the history rather than the weather, that kind of thing... and it's nice but... I've got to use my annual leave wisely so I want to RELAX on holiday, not feel like I'm on some kind of educational school trip for adults!

BridaBrida · 14/03/2023 19:18

I bloody love jersey shore and rewatch it once a year.

Longtimeloiterer · 14/03/2023 19:18

Do chip or crisp butties fall into this category?

SilentNightDancer · 14/03/2023 19:19

I have sugar in my tea.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 14/03/2023 19:19

‘Flat roof’ estate pubs have been some of my best nights out.

BridaBrida · 14/03/2023 19:19

Oh and I’ve just had a chip butty with brown sauce for tea.

FourTeaFallOut · 14/03/2023 19:19

A crisp sandwich is a lunch of champions.

luxuryisforme · 14/03/2023 19:20

@ghostyslovesheets me too! 🤣

Daisybee6 · 14/03/2023 19:21

That it's absolutely ok for young children to go into shops, cafes, restaurants etc and people should just accept that they're part of everyday life and stop moaning about them 😊

Ohyoudodoyou · 14/03/2023 19:21

I watch sub titled films Sped up
If I'm not that into them.
Ballet is beyond tedious.
All inclusive buffets are the BEST I prefer going alone before family and friends join me as I can harvest quicker.
I have fine wines bought for me and couldn't tell the difference between those and the house red at my local TBH.
I get fancy bread for dinner guests but eat tesco toastie several times through the day with different toppings.

bert3400 · 14/03/2023 19:23

I love sandwich spread and crab paste ...My DH has never tried them and does a 🤮 when I mention my love for them ....I may LTB

fuckitfuckitall · 14/03/2023 19:26

I hate any kind of fizz ie Prosecco, cava, champagne
I love a crisp butty especially on warburtons white bread with Lurpak and Bovril

WonderingWanda · 14/03/2023 19:28

I like going on All Inclusive holiday's.

I get very bored in art galleries.

Comeonbarbiebrianharvey · 14/03/2023 19:30

I like wetherspoons. And supermarket cafes.

CherryogDog · 14/03/2023 19:32

My ideal holiday would be all inclusive in Benidorm. Amongst people who are just like the characters in Benidorm.

DavesSpareDeckChair · 14/03/2023 19:32

I struggle to get into most films and "box set" type TV shows (the sort of thing that's a million seasons long and each one is a billion episodes long, people rave about it and you watch a few episodes and don't really enjoy it, then they say "oh you have to keep going, it's the best thing every, I mean it doesn't really get going until episode 101 but you have to watch the first 100 crappy episodes otherwise you will have no idea what's going on!"). Especially if the genre is drama. I find a lot of "drama" depressing/uninteresting unless there is some sort of "hook" that appeals to me, like a mystery or a subject that interests me or moments of light relief/comedy, otherwise most drama is just an expensive-looking, clever-clever, depressing soap opera.

neitherofthem · 14/03/2023 19:33

Jane Eyre is by turns as dull as ditchwater and utterly infuriating, and nothing on Earth would persuade me to read it ever again.

<having been forced to pore over every word of the dratted thing for O'Level>

LemonDrizzles · 14/03/2023 19:34

Philly on digestives = heaven
