Is ANYONE still buying Heinz baked beans?

Just a light-hearted post.

As title says, just wondered if there was anyone out to there still buying Heinz baked beans? We all know the price of cans is now extortionate, and everyone I know seemed to have switched brands.

Surely they can't be getting the sales anymore to keep going?! 🤯

I'm a picker in a supermarket and I've noticed that most people are ordering own brand now. Fair share of Heinz still but mostly own brand.

Lorrymum · 01/03/2023 17:58

Nope, another vote for M and S beans. I tried Branston but they were like little bullets.

M&S baked beans are good for 50p

This, and Waitrose ones!

wednesdayrobyn · 01/03/2023 17:59

Switched to Branston years ago but recently tried the m&s own brand and they were pretty good.

BarbaraofSeville · 01/03/2023 17:59

I don't understand the Heinz love. Their products aren't nice, or certainly not nice enough to pay so much more than other brands. I especially can't believe how much ketchup costs and how much people buy of it.

We're just coming to the end of a slab of Branston beans that we got in Costco that has taken at least 6 months to get through. I think it was about £8 for 24 cans so I suspect we will have a big shock next time we buy beans.

Snooozername · 01/03/2023 18:00

Yes, when they are on offer. Otherwise, no.

Mama1980 · 01/03/2023 18:01

I do yes.

HappySonHappyMum · 01/03/2023 18:01

We eat Branston Beans - Heinz are way too expensive. Refuse to pay £3 for a bottle of Heinz Ketchup so we are now eating Aldi which is far tastier actually. The only Heinz product I can't give up is its Salad Cream - if anyone can suggest a good substitute I'd appreciate it!

Chewbecca · 01/03/2023 18:01

Yes, we do. But only eat them once a fortnight or so, max. I buy on special offer too & store in the garage.

Holeymoleymacaroni · 01/03/2023 18:04

No, not for a long time. I really like the Tesco own brand beans but they increased in price too so tried the Stockwell ones which are 27p and we're happy with these!

MajorCarolDanvers · 01/03/2023 18:05

Yes always Heinz

But the low salt ones

MrsPnut · 01/03/2023 18:05

M&S or Waitrose baked beans and M&S ketchup are much better value than Heinz.

Pieceofpurplesky · 01/03/2023 18:06

10 for £10 in Iceland

Pieceofpurplesky · 01/03/2023 18:07

Cans, not beans

Pelom · 01/03/2023 18:09

I'm gutted that I don't have an M&S or waitrose locally with all the people recommending them as a decent alternative!

Tomnooktoldmeto · 01/03/2023 18:09

Yes, still buying but in bulk to get at discount (Costco/Farm foods) we’re Coeliac and I have a celery allergy so it restricts what brands we can eat sadly

caz114 · 01/03/2023 18:09

Don't think it will be long til the beans are £10 for 10 beans!

GrasstrackGirl · 01/03/2023 18:10

Yes as other brands don't taste the same.

caz114 · 01/03/2023 18:11

As a matter of nosiness- at what price would you stop buying Heinz?

NoSuchThingAsMe · 01/03/2023 18:11

I've always got Waitrose beans as they're nicer.

Still buy Heinz spaghetti hoops though, all the others I've tried are horrible.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 01/03/2023 18:11

Yes I do because they don't have ingredients that I'm allergic to which are quite often in beans.

FeltCarrot · 01/03/2023 18:12

We switched to Branstons a few years ago but on the back of another thread I bought a tin of M&S beans today for 50p and they were really good.
Still like Heinz beans and sausages though!

Boogismyname · 01/03/2023 18:13

I often buy Waitrose essentials ones at 55p per tin. I only buy tiny bits and reduced items there.

CountryParsonPetal · 01/03/2023 18:13

We're still buying Heinz. On the odd occasion that we shop at Lidl I'll get their baked beans.

Xrays · 01/03/2023 18:13

I am but only because where we live the Aldi ones - which are the only other ones I like - are so often out of stock. So end up buying Heinz ones. Can’t stand Tesco or sainsburys own brand ones, they’re hard as bullets!
