"Analysts also said that maintaining the household price cap at £2,500 would help lower inflation."

So the Government worry about inflation when it comes to paying public sector workers - not so much when it's linked to energy prices.

Truss writing in the Telegraph and being interviewed by the Spectator

Sunak being interviewed by Piers Morgan on TalkTv

Johnson on Nadine Dories TalkTv show

What/who are they afraid of?

In my mind Truss and Johnson are just minions to £££/media owners.

Frederick Barclay owns both the Telegraph and the Spectator. Even my true blue Telegraph reading Dad has commented that it seems to loathe Sunak.

Talk TV is a Murdoch product.

Obviously neither Barclay nor Murdoch actually live in the UK.

Is there enough space up there for all of them?

We could send them on a space cruise ship, Avenue 5 style

Already is.
At least 3 different Tory hasbeens never weres positioning themselves for the next leadership contest in newspapers this morning.

Tory fund raising chair Mansour owns Unatrac. Unatrac received £10 million of Department of International Trade loans and then seems to have tried to dodge paying appropriate amount of Corporation tax.

"Excl: Mohamed Mansour, Rishi Sunak’s elections fundraiser, has paid a multi million pound settlement after his firm was investigated by HMRC.

Separately Mansour — who sat in Egyptian military dictator Hosni Mubarak’s cabinet — doesn’t deny being a non-dom."

He doesn't need to pay tax, because he is contributing to the greater good of this country by funding the Tory party, we should all be grateful for his benevolance. And from his time in the government of Hosni Muburak I am sure he knows what a woman is and how to treat them.

Also but Jeremy Corbyn.

Do we have to presume that the purpose of Truss' outing is to distract from something?
If so what?

Could we not change one of the Rwandan planes to a spaceship? God knows we've paid enough for none of the planes to ever take off.

Perhaps because Sunak and friends only ever travel on private planes they don't understand that it is possible to buy fares quite cheaply and have several people on the same flight.

Put them on a small boat and call it a anti woke character building experience

I literally can’t understand why Truss would get one second more of media attention in any normal situation. She must have been wheeled out as a smokescreen for some other shit that the Tories don’t want us to notice..

Zonder · 05/02/2023 21:49

I think your last sentence must be the real reason @DowningStreetParty

@ManAboutTown your post suggests you believe a lot of things which are manifestly not the case. But what's your solution?

DuncinToffee · 06/02/2023 12:06

Maybe it has something to do with this

Tory 1922 Committee will consider rule change to allow no confidence vote after local elections

--> Amid fears of severe losses of council seats in May, many backbenchers believe Rishi Sunak could face a challenge

FFS they really must not be allowed to go through another leadership change without going to the country.

But they can
And they will

DuncinToffee · 06/02/2023 12:24

I also notice the withdrawal from the ECHR threat is back.

And where is Sunak during the biggest round of strikes today?
