Offered something on Facebook .. now confronted by harrassment

I'm having a big clear out and putting things in Facebook and olio for people to take.

This morning I listed a play pen on a local group and after about half an hour.got a message from a lady who will come.and take.it this evening.. brilliant.

Just before marking it as taken gone got a message from.someone else

"Need this .. please drop off at X address between 3 and 5pm today" I replied saying it was taken and anyway collection only and left it at that.

Then received

" I can't believe you would give it away without even asking why I need it I bet I need it more than anyone else "

"You're so selfish I bet you sold it instead"

"You don't care about anything but clearing out your house you couldn't give a sh*t about a young mum like me"

"If you've got any other children's stuff message me and you can drop it over tomorrow, I need things"

"You obviously don't care if my child gets hurt because they dont have a play pen.. youve got to give it to me, dont be heartless"

" How am I supposed to come and get it Ive got children you need to drop it off today"

I ignored her and blocked her and now receiving stroppy messages from another person saying they're her friend, I'm victimising her,.I shouldn't just give things away without talking to people about what they need it for everyone deserves a chance..

and best of all:

" you should be dying of shame for treating a young mum like this I hope you carry the guilt.to your dying day"

WTAF ?????

I've blocked them too and await next messages with interest. I strongly suspect they "friend" is also her. I am having quite a boring day cleaning out the loft so this is brightening it up no end

I posted a chair on Gumtree and someone was coming to pick it up. Got another message saying they would wanted it, so I said sorry someone is coming for it. She then messaged me about 4 times saying she needed it. Then she messaged saying I was wicked🤷🏻‍♀️The first person didn't come but she sure as hell wasn't getting it after harassing me😂

What you want to do is create a fake account. Message her offering a load of brand new stuff and mark it as sold 30 seconds later. Troll the troll.

Eek. I don't list for free either. I leave free stuff out the front and it's gone in minutes.

You can never reason with this type of person, self proclaimed entitled victim. I've come across a few like this unfortunately. CF!

Sorry - this sounds crazy.
I have had similar (although less extreme) experiences when giving things away.
I now out a ridiculously low price (£1 or similar) and that seems to sift out the lunatics.

Last week on a local neighbourhood site this one put...
Moved into my own Flat and was wondering if anyone has any free stuff?? If so can you deliver!!
I had been doing a bit of sorting out and had Curtains never been used and a number of other items. So I thought I will contact this person...told her what I had and was willing to deliver.
I then got a message saying....'Can you send photos'!!!
I thought omg is this one real??
So I messged her back and said...bit of advice for you luv...You only ask for photos if your buying not when your getting stuff for nothing and also getting it delivered!!
I couldnt believe it at first. I thought there was a time when if you had nothing you were glad of anything to get you through and you would walk to wherever to pick it up.
Not today...they want photos and free delivery.

Offered two booster seats for free. Posted on one local FB site then on a couple more (back when this had to be done separately on FB unless now) so was around five or so minutes delay in posts between groups.

One lady responded to first post, asked politely for both seats as had family visiting from abroad, so these were perfect. Time arranged to collect, fabulous. Then another message appeared from second lady. Could she have one? I responded, sorry these were both being collected, short but polite reply to her. Then, a tirade of ranting. My message had been posted at 12.05pm, she had replied at 12.07pm. This was unfair and unreasonable to do this. This was via messenger, then she started posted on the actual page posting, same level of ranting. I should have blocked but was actually mid-way through juggling my children’s party at a trampoline park. The ranting went on and on. In the end I reported her to the admin who had been watching the whole exchange and commented that she was about to contact her. (FB used to be much friendlier).

Mad lady then deleted her rants on my posting but I still had the rants she’d messaged to me.

Then, a week or so later I noticed her advertising her services as a counsellor, anxiety was her specialty. 😳 Still advertises, and I chuckle every time.

I love these cheeky fucker threads. I'm helping a friend give away / sell some items from her mothers house who has passed away.

One woman asked for a free item and then said I'd have to deliver. I said no - it's a free item so I'm not delivering. Then got a (probably bullshit) message about how she can't go out and so needs it being delivered. I messaged back that she should ask her own friends/family for help then rather than randoms on the internet that were actually giving her a free item! Then I blocked her.

For another item a bloke commented on it 'I'll have it - PM me for collection details". I didn't do that and gave it to someone else. He then messaged and said 'you haven't sorted collection' I replied 'No I haven't' and then blocked him as well!

It's something about free items on FB that brings out the worst in people. The harassment you're getting op is completely bat shit!

Please post the screenshot of it on the same group so others can block that person too.

I gave away 2 baby bouncers on Freecycle. By chance saw she was selling them on Facebook a week later!

I got called a dumb bitch who doesn't know anything about computers for not selling my laptop for half the listed price. Sold it for full asking later that day.

Oh wow, the entitlement is strong with that one! Poor thing clearly has no idea that she's not the only financially challenged young mum with children who needs stuff in the world. Some people simply have no idea that they are not the centre of the universe with everyone else revolving around them. She is one of those people.

Each one of her nutty messages made me laugh louder and louder.

I put a kids bike for sale on fb market place 2 weeks before Christmas. I had a message on Christmas day 'is it still available?' I replied yes. She then asked to come over and look at it as she wanted to check for rust and can she pop over in half an hour. I said no, not a good time as I'm cooking Christmas lunch! She said what about in an hour? I said no, I'll be eating with all my family. I'm busy all day because it's Christmas day!

Well I heard that their is a deaf blind lady with no limbs who was recently burgled of all her children's possessions following which the said burglars set her house on fire in New Zealand with 27 disabled children who is in desperate need of a playpen. Why on earth were you not on the first flight to deliver it......the selfishness is just pure evil
