Ah so you don't want to see many pastoral/working dogs anymore?
English Mastiff, Rottweiler, Doberman's, German shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Giant Schnauzer, Boxer.
So people can only own a terrier or a spaniel?
I owned a show cocker before the mastiff, he was a "worse" dog in that he had selective hearing, a touch of resource guarding in his latter years, he often pulled or lurches when he "found a scent" and wasn't keen on having his ears cleaned or his paws shaved, he'd growl.
Mastiff however very docile, very gentle, no guarding of anything, recall exceptional, and will let you groom, clean, touch whatever is needed. The vets don't even sedate him for heart scans, he just lays there, like a dopey lump.
It's not breeds that are the issue 90% of the time, it's the owners. I completely accept that some breeds are banned and for good reason, fighting dogs for example.
But a breed with a guarding instinct in the breed standard, shouldn't be banned/excluded. People should just research the dog they are getting, and understand that some breeds require more work and training than others due to the breed standard.
