He thinks that if he puts exactly the right ingredients in his word salad we won't be able to properly grasp what is happening

The right ingredients being 'gaslighting' and a dose of 'whataboutery'.

Zahawi seems to be bent as a corkscrew. Why the fuck hasn’t he resigned? He’s just an embarrassment now. He must have a huge amount of dirt on some people.

Perhaps they all use the same clever tax advisors?

Blossomtoes · 27/01/2023 12:15

Or not so clever.

Or not so clever.

I do hope Zahawi is asking for his money back from his tax dodging advisors.

Blossomtoes · 27/01/2023 19:01

Marina is so on the money today. And she hasn’t even started on Zahawi yet.

Notonthestairs · 28/01/2023 08:34

Zahawi's latest defence is that it was proper that he paid up when he was Chancellor to remove any conflict between him & HMRC. And that Truss might have made him Chancellor.

Honestly it's utterly delusional and assumes we are both stupid and have short memories.
As a Cabinet minister & MP he shouldn't have been in that position in the first place
And as if Zahawi was ever likely to be Truss' chancellor - Kwarteng was nailed on to that role given he had been phoning around for support for Truss since January 2022.

Very good. We should remember that despite being some of the country's wealthiest & most powerful people they are the real victims here.

DuncinToffee · 28/01/2023 10:28

Yep, Zahawi is saying he has done nothing wrong, it's all a witch hunt.

And then there is more

twitter.com/jimfitznews/status/1618843981986795520?t=4tTx3NEyS_BVuT5u5tUFkA&s=19

Zahawi and Crowd2Fund

💥benefited from government deregulation

💥headed by Zahawi’s government friend’s bro

💥 co-founded by Zahawi’s parents firm Balshore

💥💥💥web domains registered and owned by…Zahawi himself!

So why has he said NOTHING before?

(the friend mentioned is Matt Hancock who has donated 3% of his jungle adventure to charity)

Witch hunt
I'm surprised that anyone would say anything so 'Trumpy'🤣
He must really be out of options 😬

I think it is a little unfair on witches to suggest in some way that Zahawi might be similar to them. He is much more evil.

Roussette · 28/01/2023 15:20

Trust in the Tories has reached an all time low. No surprise there.

  • 65% of voters say Rishi Sunak’s party is ‘institutionally corrupt’, with just 18% disagreeing.
  • 72% say senior Conservatives are “more interested in personal gain than serving the public”

www.bylinesupplement.com/p/the-conservative-party-is-institutionally

Isn't it noticeable that no supporters of the Govt come on here any more. Obviously it's too much for them to stomach too.

There are still some on the "but Sunak knows what a woman is" threads.

L1ttledrummergirl · 28/01/2023 17:06

If anyone isn't following Carol Vorderman on twitter, I can recommend her right now. She's a woman on a mission.

I seem to have missed those threads @jgw1 but I bet you've got them running in circles.

You haven't missed much to be honest.

To summarise, the threat to all of us from a small number of trans woman an even smaller number of whom may actually pose a threat to all of us, is quite the most important thing to worry about and not say why there are so few police in the country.

They’re around somewhere. Call them and they will come. In 3..2..1..

borntobequiet · 28/01/2023 17:19

Many of us worry about a variety of things and one of the benefits of following these threads is that it makes one realise that there are people with whom one agrees on one issue but with whose strongly held and valid views on other issues one may not agree.

Johnson to Sky News, Monday: 'Richard Sharp knows absolutely nothing about my personal finances, I can tell you that for ding dang sure'

Today

twitter.com/Gabriel_Pogrund/status/1619396363569213443?t=N8HYhJ_JbErlBqCiwPXp4Q&s=19

Boris Johnson was told to stop seeking Richard Sharp's "advice about your personal financial matters" days before announcing him as BBC chairman

The Sunday Times today reveals bombshell letter given to him by Simon Case 1/8

Oh what a tangled web.

Ding dang sure that Blyth & Sharp were far more involved in Johnson's life and finances than he's admitted. It all seems very handy that at the point of arranging loans and jobs for the boys (Blyth was put forward for a role on the British Council) Johnson didn't have an ethic adviser to hand.

I had to roll my eyes that the Johnson, & Sharp dinner happened during lockdown when households were banned from mixing. Almost like the laws didn't apply.

DuncinToffee · 28/01/2023 19:28

Oh FFS, I hadn't realised that.
Guess it was another ambush.
