There is a set of traffic lights/junction near me which I absolutely hate. Nothing bad has ever happened to me there, but i have a loathing for it that I cant explain or understand. Its not a difficult junction either.

I actively go out of my way to avoid it.

Lollipop men/women. Can’t you wait for a bit of a gap in the traffic to stop it, and teach the kids to wait a bit, rather than just launching out into moving traffic.

Baked beans.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/12/2022 19:15

Forsythias. Mum had one and I hated it even when I was 3/4.

Funkyslippers · 16/12/2022 19:17

Your Song by Elton John. I cannot understand how a career was launched with such a turgid awful mess of a song. The lyrics in particular are amateurish in my opinion

Palmfrond · 16/12/2022 19:21

Capers. Nothing about them in particular should offend me but get those nasty little green shits the fucj out of my fridge and out of my life.

Bepis · 16/12/2022 19:22

Feet! Especially with hard crusty skin. If anyone puts their feet near me, I'm gone.

That awful sound effect that is always added in when somebody cuts themselves with a knife in films or tv. I'm not squeamish looking at the cut but that sound sets my teeth on edge

Just reminded me, the sound of something scraping down a chalk board. Nope nope nope 🙈

Grandparents (usually GM) pushing the GC in the pram playing mum, whilst mum trots along beside.

Alighttouchonthetiller · 16/12/2022 19:29

Sainsburys petrol station in my nearest town. I hate it....but not sure why. The layout is OK and I've never had any problems there, but I always get this feeling like it's all going to kick off. I dread going there. Completely irrational.

What's wrong with this? The GM "playing mum"? Or do you think the mum should be pushing her own baby?

emmetgirl · 16/12/2022 19:31

Asda. I've hated any branch I've ever been in. No other supermarket gives me any sort of feeling let alone hate.

Atmywitsend29 · 16/12/2022 19:32

Suzuki Jimneys.

No reason at all, but the sight of them fill me with irrational rage.

MzLucky · 16/12/2022 19:32

The way hotels tuck the quilt into the mattress. Gives me the utter rage for some reason. First thing I do is pull it all out.

Me too! Bugs the life out of me.

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 16/12/2022 19:35

The feel of velvet on my hands, hazelnuts, cockroaches (otherwise I love insects in a way that freaks other people out), tomato skin when it's gone wrinkly, those adverts where children's mouths are superimposed on adults. Also anything in the uncanny valley e.g. clowns and cherubs. Oh and statues with blank eyes. Clearly I could go on...

Oh god yes this. The furious untucking, the muttering, the DH who has still not got used to this madness...

I am the same. Asda makes my blood boil 🤷‍♀️

What are they?

Msgrieves · 16/12/2022 19:40

Nvm googled. Yes they look like toy cars.

Reasonablereasonableness · 16/12/2022 19:40

@WeWereInParis nothing wrong with it presumably. It's a thread for irrational dislikes!

Mine is violins.

TheRookie · 16/12/2022 19:40

Warm milk 🤮 I am yet to figure out a way to warm up milk and check it won't burn my children's mouths without tasting it, I have been known to stick my finger in it but even that grosses me out. Sometimes I stick a teaspoon in it and see if that's hot when it comes out 🙈

Winter2020 · 16/12/2022 19:43

£2 coins.

I don't know why. When I have worked in shops I felt sorry if I gave them to people in their change and I try to get rid of them quick if I have one.
