Anyone else have a totally irrational dislike of something?

There is a set of traffic lights/junction near me which I absolutely hate. Nothing bad has ever happened to me there, but i have a loathing for it that I cant explain or understand. Its not a difficult junction either.

I actively go out of my way to avoid it.

Wet bath mats

I strongly dislike a capital letter 'I' written as in this typeface. Even if I have to handwrite a form in block capitals, I always take the time to add serifs... and secretly I think it's careless or lazy not to!😆

Come to think of it, I don't really like lower-case 'l' either and I usually use a cursive form of it in my handwriting!

The scene in Planet of the Apes where the apes ride horses. Makes me shiver

It's not at all irrational to hate this. Most people would apart from the tiny minority of boys/men who do it.

Tibshelf service station on the M1 near Nottingham. I don't know why but whenever I go there (I always forget I hate it) I get confused by the signs and end up going down a one way street which is meant for lorries. End up driving round for about half an hour before rejoining the motorway. I just have a real mental block about it which is annoying because it's often the most convenient service station on my journey!

Hedgehogs. I know it's ridiculous but they look so....weird.

Asymetric haircuts. Can Not Abide. Completely irrational.

By asymetric, I don't mean a side parting - more Phil Oakey in the 80s. Actually, extend that to pretty much any haircut that involves extensive short clipping combined with length - maybe that's the thing that sets my teeth on edge rather than asymetry per se.

There's a very nice and funny female comedian who pops up on various panel shows at the moment whose hair does my head in.

Long ugly fingernails. So many women on MN post pics of their pregnancy tests and ultrasounds and ALL I can focus on is their fugly long natural nails in the photo. I like nails short and the long natural ones make me want to throw up.

There was a recent thread on engagement rings and all I could focus on were disgusting thickened long nails with garish polish. Dread to think what's living or growing underneath.

People saying choccies and biccies instead of using the actual word. Makes me want to stove their stupid faces in.

Also unnecessary abbreviation of words (Martin Lewis's website is terrible for that, I suppose it's because of the people it's aimed at). And unnecessary capitalisation of things, for example someone typing that they're eating a Ham and Pineapple Pizza.

Also agree with lollipop people. Near my old house they used to have a lollipop man on the fucking pedestrian crossing. What a waste of my taxes.

The cunting, sodding Vodafone adverts both on the radio and the tv.

Cannot stand the womans shrill, cheery voice, the weird tonal inflection she has and the fucking cringey back ground tune that goes "ahhhhhhhh". Fuck the fuck off. I actually want to smash my car radio everytime it comes on. I'm in a right mood now just thinking about it 😂

Not to mention that fucking stupid perfume advert. 3 women in a fucking field going "daisy daisy daisy daisy". Godddddd just piss off.
