It's Friday, you want something delicious and easy to cook but can't stretch to a takeaway. What are you having?

We're having super noodles with chopped up hot dogs.

Nothing beats a nasty Friday tea.

I’d maybe go for egg and soldiers! I don’t really do much cooking, hate it so never ever go to much effort if I’m just feeding myself, or just have an early night - yes I hate cooking that much!! And if I was really hungry I’d just order a takeaway 😂

Londono · 11/11/2022 16:48

We are having Indian curry but from a local shop where the amazing shopkeeper makes really authentic homemade ones. So not quite a takeaway, but even better!

I'll make the rice at home and we've got Aldi naan and popadoms

The posh version of buying chippy chips to go with your fish fingers 🤣 I'm very jealous though.

Left over homemade dahl mixed with an opened half tin of chopped tomatoes, the spoonful of lime pickle and mango chutney that were left in the serving dish, all mixed together and heated up in a saucepan.

Mindymomo · 11/11/2022 16:52

We are having chicken kiev, oven chips and veg.

itsawildwildworld · 11/11/2022 16:53

Looking for inspiration here...need to pull together a celebratory meal quickly and I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions?

Runestone · 11/11/2022 16:53

Microwave nachos, topped with either chilli con carne or chicken pieces and grated cheese (the pre grated kind ideally), jalapeños and lots of lovely salsa, guacamole and soured cream.

Oh that's an absolute favourite over here. You can't beat a chicken Kiev

Breaded chicken in burger buns with spicy sauce and French fries.

DrMarciaFieldstone · 11/11/2022 16:55

We are having a takeaway as it’s last day of DH leave, but our dirty Friday backup dinner is fish fingers in a bun with a cheese slice and tartare sauce, served with a freezer tapas selection of the end of the bags of potato waffles, smiles, minions and chips. Not a veggie in sight.

DrMarciaFieldstone · 11/11/2022 16:56

Maybe just a few leaves of iceberg to counteract the matching white wine pairing

MOTY1995 · 11/11/2022 16:56

Egg chips beans with b & b

Strawberrypicnic · 11/11/2022 16:56

Can't beat a crispy baked potato with your favourite topping and a glass of wine.

Chicken breast with soy, honey, grated ginger and garlic powder. Wrap it up in foil and bake for half an hour or so. If you have any variety of noodles whip them up with a chilli and coconut broth (if you can get to a shop the shin ramyun noodles are perfect if you cook them with coconut milk instead of water) shove some stir fry veg and the chicken chopped ontop. Boom, chilli chicken ramen. Way too easy, way too yummy.

pizza or oven fish, chips & peas
but i had pizza last night so it's jacket potato, tuna & coleslaw with salad tonight

h78 · 11/11/2022 16:57

Battered fish to go in oven, home made chips and tinned mushy peas. Nice and easy tonight.

Acunningruse · 11/11/2022 16:57

Enchiladas made using last night's leftover chilli.

ThreeRingCircus · 11/11/2022 16:57

Normally it's one of:

Supermarket frozen pizza.

Nachos.... just tortilla chips, melted cheese, salsa, sour cream and jalapeños. Maybe some fried chorizo if feeling fancy. 😉

Fish finger sandwiches.

Baked camembert, crusty bread and red onion chutney.

Chips, beans and cheese.

Egg and chips.

Tomato soup and garlic bread.

youagainomg · 11/11/2022 16:58

Pizza toast 😂

LBOCS2 · 11/11/2022 16:59

If I can be arsed it's Katsu curry - home fried panko breadcrumb chicken, homemade Wagas Katsu curry sauce, rice, pickles.

If I can't, then it's freezer fish and chips, or our other favourite which is breakfast-for-dinner. Bacon, eggs, hash browns, grilled or tinned tomatoes, mushrooms, sausage patty - all mixed and matched depending on preference and what I have in the fridge!

Tansytea · 11/11/2022 17:01

Spag bol from the freezer. So there's just the pasta and the cheese to do.

Homemade egg Muffins - English Muffins, cheese slice and a fried egg.

IHeartGeneHunt · 11/11/2022 17:04

Leftover chicken turned into tempura with a batter mix from Aldi, haricot beans and onions in slightly spicy gravy, and rice.
