It's Friday, you want something delicious and easy to cook but can't stretch to a takeaway. What are you having?

We're having super noodles with chopped up hot dogs.

Nothing beats a nasty Friday tea.

DC1 has offered to make a chilli. Yum.

Crosswithlifeatm · 11/11/2022 17:05

I am playing with my new pressure cooker so having chicken with left over veg and dried butter beans, some chicken stock and undecided herbs/spices.
Eat some,freeze some.

Runestone · 11/11/2022 17:05

Chicken nuggets, baked beans and potato waffles always a winner too.
Or a supermarket curry or pizza

almondflake · 11/11/2022 17:14

I've made fridge bottom soup to have with fresh bread and parkin , the soup's gorgeous and the Parkin is just coming out of the oven 😃

Grumpybutfunny · 11/11/2022 17:16

Cheats ash-e-reshteh from my new cook book. It's basically 4 tins of different beans and some herbs+ spice boiled as a soup with some dry spaghettti chucked in at the end.

If I can be arsed it's Katsu curry - home fried panko breadcrumb chicken, homemade Wagas Katsu curry sauce, rice, pickles.

If I can't, then it's freezer fish and chips, or our other favourite which is breakfast-for-dinner. Bacon, eggs, hash browns, grilled or tinned tomatoes, mushrooms, sausage patty - all mixed and matched depending on preference and what I have in the fridge!

My friend calls breakfast for dinner "brinner" 😂

During one of my more productive weekends I made a huge batch of spinach and ricotta pasta and a batch of tomato sauce. 4 minutes to cook the pasta from frozen and about the same to warm up the sauce. God bless Jamie Oliver. He taught me to freeze liquids laying flat in sandwich bag so they defrost quickly.

Firesideassembly · 11/11/2022 17:22

Fish finger sandwich

jenn88 · 11/11/2022 17:26

Spag bol, made it earlier so will just reheat and boil the pasta! Oh and garlic bread!

gianfrancogorgonzola · 11/11/2022 17:27

black bean and kale chilli with spicy wedges, plus lots of cheese, guacamole and sour cream

troppibambini6 · 11/11/2022 17:27

Heinz tomato soup with two slices of tiger loaf.

LondonWolf · 11/11/2022 17:27

M&S Dirty Fries - outrageously calorific but so yum!

rockingbird · 11/11/2022 17:28

Steak and blue cheese baguettes here this evening

GreenLeavesRustling · 11/11/2022 17:28

Home made lasagna but from the freezer and salad. I’ve made a cake for tea so it will be what’s left of that for pud

PotentiallyPolly · 11/11/2022 17:28

Homemade chicken hot pot! Not our usual Friday night tea, that usually consists of whatever can be bunged in the oven but I’ve pulled my finger out for once and actually cooked from scratch. The kids ate none of it and reminded me why I don’t bother anymore 😂

SpentDandelion · 11/11/2022 17:29

Beef stew and cheddar mash. (Ready made)

hellosunshineagainxxx · 11/11/2022 17:29

Scrambled egg on toast lol

33goingon64 · 11/11/2022 17:31

Fajitas

gogohmm · 11/11/2022 17:31

Dal, rice, pickled aubergine strips, chicken tikka, chapattis. All home cooked. Cost (3 adults) circa £4.50

bobisbored · 11/11/2022 17:31

We are having takeaway curry but I'm cooking rice and chips at home to save a few quid.

Chocchops72 · 11/11/2022 17:31

Bread and cheese is our easiest Friday tea but we live in France so it’s a decent baguette with…

Saint Marcelin
Beaufort
Challerhocker
Claousou
Camembert
Fribourg and Appenzeller (to supplement a fondue tomorrow - another easy tea 😂)

DH likes his cheese. He went a bit mad in the fromagerie.
😂

gogohmm · 11/11/2022 17:32

But just read someone is having katsu curry ,.. might change!

NotQuiteUsual · 11/11/2022 17:32

I am absolutely loving the variety. I honest expected 20 comments of beans and toast 🤣 your easy teas are way above my standards.

Oh and and takeaway in the U.K. would be so much cheaper., but there are no cheap takeaways in France (except for kebabs). At least the cheese lasts a while.

AlisonDonut · 11/11/2022 17:33

I made pizza for dinner today so had my quick and easy last night which was oven chips in the air fryer with bread and butter.
