It's Friday, you want something delicious and easy to cook but can't stretch to a takeaway. What are you having?

We're having super noodles with chopped up hot dogs.

Nothing beats a nasty Friday tea.

OP posts:

Home made watercress soup, shop-bought garlic bread, home-made banana cake from yesterday, crisps, and wine.

bigbluebus · 11/11/2022 17:38

Puff pastry 'pizza'. Got a pack of ready rolled puff pastry in the fridge and I'm well stocked with an assortment of toppings. DS goes out for lunch on a Friday and informed me he's had lamb curry so doesn't want much for dinner! So this will fit the bill.

shabs05 · 11/11/2022 17:39

Nothing 'nasty' about noodles;)
I'd make sweet chilli chicken on stir fried noodles. The ready to work noodles I discovered recently make it quick and easy too.

Blueberrycreampie · 11/11/2022 17:39

Lasagne, previously made and frozen. Also made some tuna pasta bake as not enough lasagne.

Confusion101 · 11/11/2022 17:49

Steak and chips today, but another fave of mine is a crispy chicken wrap and chips

ChocolatSouris · 11/11/2022 17:50

Chicken Kiev with kale and sweetcorn and I’ve also made up some cous cous into which has gone some chopped sundried tomatoes and feta which needed using up.

grapehyacinthisactuallyblue · 11/11/2022 17:53

Crispy spring rolls.

MrsMontyD · 11/11/2022 17:56

M&S ready meals (had Ocado delivery this morning) garlic bread and a microwaveable pack of green veg with garlic butter.

ancientgran · 11/11/2022 18:00

I'm having pork steaks, once cooked spread with onion chutney with cheese on top and put under the grill till the cheese bubbles. Served with green beans and baby new potatoes par boiled and then in the oven with olive oil, salt and a bit of paprika on them.

MsLucyEyelesbarrow · 11/11/2022 18:02

Toasted sandwiches here.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 11/11/2022 18:04

Lasagne in the oven here. Sort of home made but did use a jar for the white sauce. Garlic bread. Bucks fizz!

Happy Friday.

OutDamnedSpot · 11/11/2022 18:04

We’re having burgers. Plate of burgers, and various bowls of toppings in the middle of the table (fried onions, cheese, salad, avocado, etc) in the middle of the table for everyone to help themselves to. Brioche buns. French fries.

Both DSes will eat it and DP and I can have a more ‘grown up’ meal without having to cook something completely different.

ErinAndTonic · 11/11/2022 18:06

Following as I always cave and get a takeaway on Fridays.

Chinese on its way as I type this 😆

soupey1 · 11/11/2022 18:06

Made from scratch pork, apple, sage and onion burgers in shop bought brioche buns with homemade chilli/paprika oven chips.

Crucible · 11/11/2022 18:07

Chicken Kev, tinned spuds, savoy cabbage and carrots.

1stWorldProblems · 11/11/2022 18:09

Turkey breast - flattened & fried. Delia's rosemary & garlic roast potatoes, carrots, leek 'straw' and lemon sauce (lemon juice & double cream).

Another quick one is Chicken Cordon Bleu (the kievs but with cheese & ham in them), sauté potatoes, sweetcorn (with bits of pre-cut & frozen red pepper mixed in as our family miss Green Giant's Mexicorn) and lemon butter sauce - heat butter til it bubbles up & the solids start to go dark gold, then add lemon juice til stops sizzling).

xogossipgirlxo · 11/11/2022 18:09

I always have pasta on Fridays

We are having Indian curry but from a local shop where the amazing shopkeeper makes really authentic homemade ones. So not quite a takeaway, but even better!

I'll make the rice at home and we've got Aldi naan and popadoms

Love this

Delicious! I know a village in Cambs where the local shopkeeper does this, not the same place by any chance?!

PieonaBarm · 11/11/2022 18:12

I'm having Spag Bol, a pretty normal tea for most, but DH hates it so we never have it, and he's out tonight. Can't wait!

McAvennie · 11/11/2022 18:13

Vegan shawarma kebabs on flatbread with onion, lettuce, tomato and plenty of garlic mayo/srichacha.

I feel it's near enough a dirty kebab with slightly less guilt Grin

Whycanineverever · 11/11/2022 18:14

My daughters had a 31p (reduced from £3.10) tub of carbonara sauce from waitrose with pasta. I need to stalk it more often at reductions time.

SnoopLabbyLab · 11/11/2022 18:15

I’ve had a pork shoulder in the oven since 11.30. Plan to serve in buns with homemade wedges and slaw. Can’t bloody wait!

WhatHaveIFound · 11/11/2022 18:18

We're having ready meal chicken curries. We've been working very long days for most of this month and won't have a day off until Sunday so neither of us can really can't be arsed cooking.

Hidingawaytoday · 11/11/2022 18:19

We had pizza, cheesy chips and garlic mayo... it's been a hard week. DH is now serving up ice cream for dessert 😋😋
