@itsgettingweird I've sent a modified version of your letter to my MP. However, he is currently fucking about in the jungle so I don't expect a reply any time soon ever

Blossomtoes · 11/11/2022 13:07

She was PM. The boss should take the flak.

I must admit I thought that.

Didn't Sunak say something about not agreeing with some of Johnson's decisions but he had to follow them? (Or am I making it up?)

Apparently he's taken his laptop to work. I haven't seen it but from news stories he's spending his whole time being thrilled by camp or doing trials!

itsgettingweird · 11/11/2022 16:06

Grilled (not thrilled!) - they aren't thrilled he's there either Grin

OMG, the Torybots on Twitter are EVERYWHERE since he went in that 'jungle'.

Raab, another bully

twitter.com/PippaCrerar/status/1591099189391654912?t=ZRTSoj0amIDOvMXOCTF2Iw&s=19

EXCL: Senior civil servants at Ministry of Justice were offered “respite or a route out” of department when Dominic Raab was reappointed last month amid concerns over his behaviour.

MoJ insiders claim the permanent secretary spoke to Raab when he returned to department to warn him to treat staff professionally, with one source, who was not in room, claiming she had “read him the riot act”.

Multiple sources told @guardian that Raab had created “culture of fear” at MoJ, alleging his behaviour towards civil servants was “demeaning rather than demanding”, “very rude and aggressive” and that he “wasn’t just unprofessional, he was a bully”.

No formal complaints have been made. One source close to Raab said: “Dominic makes no apologies for having high standards. He works hard, and expects a lot from his team as well as himself. He rates MoJ officials very highly, & he is always professional & clear with them.”

I'm not surprised about Raab. You can always see the seething anger bubbling inside him.

Ah, the 'she/he made me do it' defence Hmm

Me neither, especially as he would happily take away human rights.

I'm so pissed off. I've written to my MP and it's definitely the right email address as I've used it before and Ive triple checked on .gov and it's bounced back.
So I've sent it via "write to my MP".

No acknowledgement which usually comes within hours . So he's obviously shut down his email
There is no way to contact him. No SM. No constituency office. No email

I need to take this further

Roussette · 11/11/2022 19:13

I need to amend my post. It's not shut down. But there is no auto acknowledgement as normal.

Ignored.

this one is funny in a dark way…. DP was asked the same question by paramedics recently (not dementia related) and I did point out that’s a bit unfair until he reassured me he would accept ‘that twat’ as evidence of some awareness. Grin

countrygirl99 · 12/11/2022 08:56

My mum has dementia and had a right old moan about the Mail getting the PM wrong the other week because she thought it was still Boris.

tobee · 13/11/2022 02:30

Quiet here today.

Or yesterday now.

Piggywaspushed · 13/11/2022 07:00

Yes. I think we are all exhausted . In my case, arguing about rickets and FSM on another thread. No one has said feckless yet but workhouses have been mentioned.

itsgettingweird · 13/11/2022 07:05

The government has gone quiet.

Next week till ramp up again as we head towards the 17th and the budget announcement.

DowningStreetParty · 13/11/2022 08:10

I wrote to my MP about the Braverman reappointment after her resignation and also about the party not properly investigating the Williamson claims about telling civil servants to kill themselves etc. Him resigning and then the Sunak response letter not even commenting on why Williamson resigned..: shows nothing’s likely to change under Sunak. Feels like they’ve left the door open for Williamson to come back!

Not even going there with Matt Hancock prattling around on TV for sympathy while on the taxpayer’s payroll, while Parliament is sitting. Awful.

The fact that more Americans at the mid-term polls seem to have fallen out of love with self-serving right wing populist con merchants seems to be completely lost on the Tories.

The Tories aren’t acting on the constant lowering of standards in their own party- which hasn’t stopped with Johnson finally leaving- presumably because desperately low standards are the Conservative party’s normal way of working now.

… I see that Raab is also being reported on for even more conduct issues, now going back to 2018.. www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/nov/12/dominic-raab-facing-more-bullying-claims-from-time-as-brexit-secretary

The Tories must be so relieved that it’s Remembrance Sunday today, so that critics will be forced to mute their comment on current political issues. Instead, senior government will be representing us, honouring the war dead. And the past PMs..

BruceIsACake · 13/11/2022 08:34

On Gillian Keegan - she was previously minister for social care and mental health. She was considered 'toxic' by officials in NHS England and they refused to continue meeting with her.

Piggywaspushed · 13/11/2022 09:11

Hunt on the telly now. Saying exactly the same things as all other Tories. 'But Germany' .

itsgettingweird · 13/11/2022 09:55

Just watched Rachel Reeves on LK show. She was really good. The more I hear from her the more I feel safe in her as chancellor. She's so honest too.

Piggywaspushed · 13/11/2022 09:57

Yep. As usual, Laura was rather harsh on her.

itsgettingweird · 13/11/2022 10:01

I did laugh when Hunt said she's tough (or whatever line he used).

I did immediately think "thank god you aren't a labour minister if she thinks this is being tough in you!"

L1ttledrummergirl · 13/11/2022 10:01

I finally received a reply from my MP around the Truss shit show. She fully supported the decisions made but thought the political timing and and communication was wrong.
She also blamed world affairs.

Now that Sunaks budget appears to be a total u-turn, reversal and total direction change, I wonder how she will attempt to square the circle?

The governance of the country has been and remains piss poor. They are lurching from one crisis to the next, changing direction on a whim and appear to be made up of bullies and thugs who are happy to lie at the drop of a hat.

I think people care, people are still disbelieving and angry with them, it's just that there seems to be nothing we can do. Until an election is called we have no say and the tory benches have shown that they have no desire to do the right thing for the country, they are selfishly clinging on ti their jobs.

DuncinToffee · 13/11/2022 10:03

It al feels like the silence before the storm.

Sunak is keeping very silent

Hunt must be living in a different reality, and his faux concern 'we all have to make sacrifices' is nauseating. At least he accepts the NHS is on it's knees for all the good that will do.

And still spouting the the fiscal black hole and brexit nonsense

OP posts:
the80sweregreat · 13/11/2022 10:09

Mr Hunt looks positively pleased at the prospect of taxing everyone again !
He really is a narcissist
