Dear Suella Braverman,
I am writing to you with severe concerns about the voter ID requirement since the bill passed in April.
Currently it’s been published that the only universal forms of accepted ID will be drivers licence or passport.
The other forms of ID are only applicable to those over 60 such as bus pass and disabled travel pass.
As your party are very aware there is a general cost of living crisis currently.
It would be expected and usual for those on low incomes and poverty not to own a drivers licence or passport because they aren’t in a financial position to be able to own a car or take a foreign trip.
Could you please explain why you are providing the voting opportunity solely to those who can afford the luxury of cars and holidays or are over 60.
Why is this coinciding with your voter demographic?
And most importantly what are you going to do as a party to ensure EVERYONE who is entitled to vote will have a suitable - readily available and free ID ready for the local elections next May?
I've emailed the above to my waste of space MP. I'll get a load of twaddle back if I even get a reply at all!
