Leigh and Bone were having a go at migrants on PMQs Angry

Of course they were. Did their fellow dinosaur, Chope, join in?

L1ttledrummergirl · 16/11/2022 14:17

Sunak was saying in an interview this morning that there had been no complaints made about Raab.

Another lie then...

InMySpareTime · 16/11/2022 14:21

He was very careful to say he'd heard no formal complaints about Raab, even when the question was about informal complaints.
Slippery fucker.

Don't know about Chope but 30p Anderson was accusing Labour of bullying Braverman Confused

Britain's economy is recovering far worse than that of the eurozone and US from the recession caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Bank of England governor has said.
Speaking at a hearing of the Treasury Select Committee on Wednesday Andrew Bailey told MP there was a "dramatic" and "stark" difference in economic performance.

DuncinToffee · 16/11/2022 16:04

As Angela Rayner said on PMQs

UK would come 38/38 on OECD growth table.

“If there was a World Cup for growth, we wouldn’t even qualify”.

On the inflation comments just popped back from the local co op coz I'd run out of fresh salad and it looks like there's deflation: the size of the contents in bags of salad, fruit, veg etc. A few bits of torn up iceberg and some cabbagey bits etc.

The prices are ridiculous lately
I feel for those with children. There are only two of us now, but like everyone else the money spent on the essentials is just going up and up weekly. We have cut back , but you still need to eat..

Same here.

My basics shop was less than the £40 minimum (I have an Asda delivery pass) and I could get some extra nice things on those weeks my basics were in good supply and my shop was usually £50.

Now my basic shop is £60 and any extras (mince etc - I batch cook) or when I need washing powder etc takes it way up closer to £80.

And I don't buy any food - just because. It's all basic meals and ingredients.

DuncinToffee · 16/11/2022 16:58

I noticed that our local Sainsburys has security tagged hairbrushes

Local coop is putting fresh meat in security tagged boxes

Thatsasmashingblouseyouvegoton · 16/11/2022 17:03

You would weep to see my food bill...

2 adults. 2 teenagers. 1 is vegetarian.

Fresh fruit, good quality lean meat, eggs, butter, 2 lots of packed lunches 5 days a week...the odd treat.

The sheer amount my ds1 can put away in one sitting is amazing (yes, yes, he's a growing boy etc...)

Do they really think we don't notice when they dance around playing silly wotsits with the language they use.
Presumably given that Sunak repeatedly refused to say that he was unaware of informal complaints about Raab just says that he was fully aware of them.

My ds is a swimmer. And a teenager.

He could put the entire contents of Asda away in one sitting as some days he trains for 5 hours!

Meanwhile this has just leaked - change which will affect poor women and women fleeing abuse the most.

Notonthestairs · 16/11/2022 18:32

There doesn't appear to be a medical reason for insisting on a home address. Provided that the woman is safe and contactable I'm not sure why they'd need to specify a home address as opposed to a refuge or friends address. Support and access to medical care should be the important requirements.

This caught my eye -

"More than a third of the government’s current cabinet voted against early medical abortion at-home measures rolled out in the wake of the pandemic being made permanent."

That’s shocking. Caufield shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near anything involving women’s rights. But at least they know what a woman is …😡

Thatsasmashingblouseyouvegoton · 16/11/2022 18:58

😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
I am so, so glad I don't have daughters ☹️
I'm also very glad I'm no longer a woman of child bearing age

DuncinToffee · 16/11/2022 19:03

That is horrific Angry

I am not even surprised, this happens when you appoint anti abortionist in certain positions.

But they know what a woman is and declare war on woke.

Just finished listening to the last few minutes of The News Agents podcast interviewing George Eustice. Him saying trade deals were never really important for brexit and people only voted to take back control. And no one cared if we were better off or not. None of it matters just as long as the EU aren't negotiating. Makes me so angry. He's basically saying "yes it's far worse than what we had before. But who cares? I hate the EU more than anything else". Like that's any kind of rational argument. Like being rational should even matter.

tobee · 16/11/2022 19:09

Re that Independent article. Has Sunak actually appointed anyone decent and capable to office? Although I don't think there's anyone left amongst Tory MPs.

Well the EU is full of foreigners, so it is not unreasonable to hate them, I know I do.
