Rishi Sunak will now privately address Conservative MPs at 14.30 so journalists here have been asked to leave. I guess the rest of us will eventually hear from him at some point

Thing is, huge deficits need huge amounts of money. If there was a GE tomorrow and Labour won then they’d have to tax exactly the same (more or less) as Sunak is going to have to. Let the Tories become even more unpopular trying to plug the financial hole while Labour (please, please God!) capitalise on the shitshow of the last few years and get ready to win a more timely GE.

Will they get the Number 10 lectern out again?

There is a complete dearth of talent to choose from in terms of cabinet apoointments*. What a farce this is.

*Typo, but seems apt really.

Be interesting to see where he goes.

Any guesses?
Any indicators?

I don’t know why they don’t just buy it a nice garden furniture cover from B&Q and leave it out.

AutumnCrow · 24/10/2022 14:26

Lord Howe talking some sense on Sky News right now.

It was all wibbly wobbly when Truss resigned. But the design doesn't help the way it looks.

They do a nice gazebo.

It needs a beer mat.

Maybe breweries could sponsor it, and the money could pay for the new wallpaper.

I thought he looked different! That Sky woman's diction need to improve.

tobee · 24/10/2022 14:31

@AutumnCrow are you my dad? He's well known in my family as fixing anything with beer mats! Grin

tobee · 24/10/2022 14:35

I remember Lord Howell back in the day. Still find it shocking seeing these people no longer in their prime. I think of them in my mind as middle aged still.

Bless him. You can entertain children with them as well, flipping them off the edge of tables and catching them. Handy for power cuts.

tobee · 24/10/2022 14:38

lol!

Saucery · 24/10/2022 14:39

I did 12!! In a pub in Newcastle with witnesses. There were cheers all round! That involved Stella Artois, I recall, but that was way back in the dark ages of my life.

Michael 'the Syrup' Fabricant is on Sky News now. He's always entertaining. His hair has that green fluorescent glow going on.

Has he made a speech yet?

DuncinToffee · 24/10/2022 15:19

He has only spoken to Tory MPs and ignored the press on his way out.

tobee · 24/10/2022 15:31
