It'll be interesting if Rishi continue his wooden delivery.

I do t mind it because we need calm clear and stable.

But what the media pull Starmer up on is his woodeness and calm him boring.

If it's like for like it'll be harder to use that against him!

Might make for very dull PMQs!

Good.
Will the PM answer the questions?

itsgettingweird · 24/10/2022 20:30

PMQs will actually be 2 highly intelligent men trying to debate effectively drowned out by a lack of lions roaring in the background.

Shame really because finally Starmer has someone equally as intelligent to played verbal table tennis with.

Yes it will be interesting to see how/if PMQs change.

tobee · 24/10/2022 20:46

I'm still hoping someone will have a guess at cabinet posts. Any takers?

Blossomtoes · 24/10/2022 20:52

My money’s on Mordaunt in the Foreign or Home Office, she’ll have extracted the promise of a big job in exchange for standing down. Javid back to Health. The amusingly named Cleverly and Coffey back to the back benches. Along with the rest of the grotesques.

Rees Mogg for Chancellor and Govey, Govey, Govey as Home Secretary.

itsgettingweird · 24/10/2022 20:59

Cabinet.

Gove, Hunt, schapps, Wallace, Raab, Mordaunt, Quince, Tugenhat (I think I'm just hoping with a few rather than thinking he will)

Personally I'd like to see someone decent in education. It's drowning right now alongside the NHS so health Secretary needs to be decent too.

Who was the great MP who did the veterans stuff?

Transport needs to be someone who will actually get round the table.

Wallace needs to remain in defence but foreign Secretary would also be a good job for him.

Hancock?!

Please no Badenoch, JRM, Braverman or Johnson. Or Steve Baker. Or Coffey.

Roussette · 24/10/2022 21:03

Please no Mogg, my blood pressure won't take it!

He's congratulated Sunak through gritted teeth obviously. Especially as there is footage of him saying he wouldn't serve under anyone but Johnson and there should be a GE. And that was before Truss came along

I just want him to fuck off back to Nanny

Notonthestairs · 24/10/2022 21:06

Braverman & Badenoch will definitely be in - they won't have offered support without locking that down.

Let's hope neither get health or education.

Or we're screwed Angry

Just the thought of it gives me the heebie jeebies. Badenoch presented some obnoxious ideas around education when she ran for PM. I really hope Sunak is not giving her a chance to try to implement them.

Blossomtoes · 24/10/2022 21:35

Who was the great MP who did the veterans stuff?

Mercer. He’s just majorly fucked up.

NEW: Two figures familiar with Sunak camp tell me Hunt expected to remain CX, but also told discussions ongoing & No decisions made. Mordaunt wants foreign. More on @skynews at 10pm

That's an oddly timed & unnecessary post.

Isn’t it? I’m baffled.

tobee · 24/10/2022 22:20

Even though I saw it was you @jgw1 I couldn't help gasping in horror very loudly at that Grin

I know Sunak supported it, and I think it will still be hard to do anyway, but I really hope that the Rwanda stuff gets quietly dropped quite soon.

tobee · 24/10/2022 22:22

So is the price of Johnson bogging off that we have to have Badenoch and Braverman in the cabinet? Can't they just be junior ministers at most?

Jason118 · 24/10/2022 22:33

I've joined the Bring back Boris Facebook group. It's like a different species.

Why?

There's no way she had had 100 names.

If she had a 99 it had a flake in it.

Are you into self flagellation?! 😂

Notonthestairs · 24/10/2022 23:42

I'm just reading about the possibility of Raab being made Home Sec. I don't see him as much different from Patel to be honest - with added lounging on the beach whilst Kabul was falling.

HeddaGarbled · 24/10/2022 23:45

I wish.

countrygirl99 · 25/10/2022 06:15

At least Rishi can afford the wallpaper/lifestyle he wants without having to suck up to donors. I suspect that took rather too much of Johnson's efforts.

AutumnCrow · 25/10/2022 06:20

Another day, another chase around the news online for snippets of gold from the political editors.

I even look at the Express from time to time, alongside the Morning Star. Eclectic, me.
