On reports that Graham Brady is waiting for 50% of MPs to submit letters: I'm told he will act on letters from a third of MPs, not half.

Logic is that by 50% she has lost the confidence of so many MPs that it wouldn't need a vote.

Source says 1922 officers have agreed this.

It's on lbc now about the letters !
Changing the rules again

mibbelucieachwell · 19/10/2022 12:06

Energy price guarantee, reversed NI increase, crack down on militant unions

mibbelucieachwell · 19/10/2022 12:06

Criticising KS for doing nothing - eh, he's in the opposition!

mibbelucieachwell · 19/10/2022 12:08

Trying to attack KS again for not doing anything about the current problems 😆

the80sweregreat · 19/10/2022 12:14

What can KS do about any of it ?
It's a genuine question
I can't listen to them arguing today :(
I'm following it via the guardian live feed

mibbelucieachwell · 19/10/2022 12:14

Committed to keeping the triple lock.

Committed to keeping the triple lock.

Until they u turn on it !

L1ttledrummergirl · 19/10/2022 12:15

She's deranged. Same old shite. She's now going to war on the strikers. Fuck it, I'm joining the picket lines near me.

Forget planning strike dates, everybody should walk out now.

the80sweregreat · 19/10/2022 12:17

Labour doesn't really support the strikers though , that is a bit of a lie.
When Sam Tarry supported the railway workers he was immediately suspended !

mibbelucieachwell · 19/10/2022 12:17

Carers' allowances getting no guarantee of rising in line with inflation.
Hmm whyever not? Could it be that they don't vote con?

ClaudineClare · 19/10/2022 12:17

She is shameless. Any why does the Speaker allow time to be wasted on fatuous friendly questions?

This government hates the disabled and by extension their carers.

mibbelucieachwell · 19/10/2022 12:21

Ahh we should have faith in her bcos she's taking action to clamp down on the militant unions.

the80sweregreat · 19/10/2022 12:23

Well, the RMT have asked for negotiations and they have been going out on strike for months and months , so are they intending to just let it carry on forever ?

Sadly, you could get arrested if you are not one of the striking workers. Secondary picketing is illegal (thanks to Thatcher I think).

Notonthestairs · 19/10/2022 12:24

Bit of mess. Truss has reversed Hunt's position on the triple lock.

mibbelucieachwell · 19/10/2022 12:25

A reminder that the current chancellor sold of the blood plasma service.

the80sweregreat · 19/10/2022 12:25

They can u turn I guess
Say this now and then change it
Just damage limitation at the moment

Notonthestairs · 19/10/2022 12:27

"As the PM finishes her exchange with Keir Starmer, telling MPs she’s a “fighter not a quitter”, one Tory backbencher turns to their neighbour and says simply “useless”. Colleague nods."

There is no possible justification - moral or economic - for treating pensions and working age benefits differently come April. We mustn't forget the context here: next year is set to bring simply huge income falls for lower income households

twitter.com/torstenbell/status/1582694621779410944?s=46&t=4wfxfDfRuxAa4GUf2iN57g

This is my view.

the80sweregreat · 19/10/2022 12:32

How did she do ?

It must be hard work being a Tory MP keeping track of which policies have been u-turned on and which are waiting for their u-turn.

Presumably everytime any of them do an interview now, it is going to involve playing back to them, them saying the opposite a week or two ago.

mibbelucieachwell · 19/10/2022 12:33

She looks feisty and energetic but ridiculous replies to QS

the80sweregreat · 19/10/2022 12:35

I'm sure that Ms Coffey has given her a few old meds out the back of the cabinet and a strong coffee today !
Sent her out fighting
