Thanks!!

the80sweregreat · 18/10/2022 21:47

Boris Johnson would be mad to come back surely ?

ClaudineClare · 18/10/2022 21:51

Ta. Hope the title of the thread is not a self fulfilling prophecy!😱

the80sweregreat · 18/10/2022 21:53

Nadine Dorries wants Boris Johnson back.
A very good reason to stay away if she's lurking around.
I think he'll stay out of it personally.

Notonthestairs · 18/10/2022 21:55

Thanks Fladdermus.

I doubt they could bring back Big Dog just yet.

He's under investigation by the Privileges Committee to establish whether he misled Parliament 'no parties' 'all rules were followed'.

the80sweregreat · 18/10/2022 21:59

I bet that PMQs is a let down
She'll just pause and say the same old things
Sir Keir will not really tear into her too much
Her party will back her up to the hilt
Hunt is now a bit more popular overnight and she'll just refer to him and go on about the energy etc

Don't say that or I'll have to delete it. It was an under pressure title. OMG, now I'm going to have nightmares about what I've unleashed.

🤣

Omg! That thread title will give me nightmares even in fun!

Been listening to relevant podcasts episodes from mini budget onwards. Interesting to listen to with the benefit of hindsight. It made me feel that, really, Truss and her coterie, Kwarteng et al and the Tufton Street gang should be in investigated with regards to the last week. Their behaviour should really be a criminal offence. It cannot be allowed to happen again. The lack of accountability.

We live in a world where people are hunted down and investigated over their benefits and vilified by society. And yet the people who have created this terrible situation for the country right now, costing billions, will be living with no detrimental effects.

tobee · 18/10/2022 22:03

And thank you for the thread @Fladdermus

I saw Robert Peston had a piece saying what happens to Truss all depends on Johnson. Talk about a clickbaity title, it just meant if Johnson publicly forgave Sunak then MPs would get behind Sunak to elbow Truss. But Peston concluded that that was unlikely to happen Hmm

Roussette · 18/10/2022 22:14

Thanks everso Fladdermus

I've read that either Johnson is still at Chequers or he's in the USA drumming up business for his speaking circuit

Either way he ain't working for the good people of Uxbridge, no sirree

TokyoSushi · 18/10/2022 22:22

Checking in! Will she still be in post by the time we fill this thread I wonder?

newnamethanks · 18/10/2022 23:02

Thread 17. And we're still on Bloody Stupid Johnson. I fear there will be no end to it, an eternity of the labrador bouncing around. And of course he's still in Chequers and, no doubt, tax payers are paying for it. And the staff come with the house. So, nothing except the maintenance to pay for. I don't mean for the house.

NOTANUM · 18/10/2022 23:08

Funny you said that.. I met an old man today who said Boris should never have been turfed out, it was all a left wing/BBC conspiracy and he might just be back in time for the election.

He seemed very sane in every other way..

AdamRyan · 18/10/2022 23:13

Just following

tobee · 18/10/2022 23:15

Didn't Truss have Hunt and family to roast lunch this last weekend at Chequers? We're Mr and Mrs Johnson and offspring also there? How would that work? All tucking in together or in separate wings? Surely he's been turfed out?

Downnotdown · 18/10/2022 23:22

Very pleased to see Mark Drakeford speaking from the heart today. He is normally very calm, collected and measured when he speaks and this shows exactly how he feels about the Tories.

On the other hand, Andrew RT Davies is a first class dullard. He is a vile, repulsive excuse for a human being. He never has anything of value or substance to contribute to proceedings at the Senedd and is of no use to anyone in Wales.

I don't vote either Labour or Tory but I genuinely believe that Mark Drakeford is passionate about making Wales a better country and has more decency in his little finger than Davies could ever have.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if she doesn’t turn up at all. Again.

But how can you have PMQs with no PM.

This is all going from bad to very very depressingly bad

TomPinch · 19/10/2022 02:30

I love how Mark Drakeford gives his lever arch file absolute hell in that clip.

borntobequiet · 19/10/2022 03:09

Thanks for the new thread.
Appreciate the contributions from posters old and new.

coffeeandbiscuittime · 19/10/2022 07:12

At present it just makes you want to put your head under the duvet and hope it all gets better soon ........ but unfortunately it isn't going to.
It reminds me of the 70's-80's watching my parents struggle and the threat of Nuclear war. As a child/teenager I was scared and i am now seeing the same with my eldest.
Maybe Truss has her head under the duvet? I cannot believe that each PM seems to be worst than the last one - Cameron has a lot to answer, Boris is just despicable, Truss is .........no words at present to describe her.

I'm guessing the Bank will need to raise the rate.

Still at Chequers? Why am I surprised at this, given it's exactly what I thought he'd do.
