Hi all. I can't believe how many threads we are in now, and parts of the country are still so dementor-y
My brothers nursing home were told to withdraw his medication and put him on palliative care by a GP that hasn't seen him, spoken to him or assessed him. Just seen a vulnerable (clinically- he's generally fine) man with a DNR.
This is the same GP who diagnosed him over the phone with a chest infection (because he was breathless) the day before he ended up being hospitalised and diagnosed with severe heart failure.

In Christmastime 2020, a 70 yo man who lived in Staffordshire (Tier 3 restrictions) sold mince pies in a Cloudside Rd premises that he believed were in Cheshire (in Tier 2).
Cloudside Rd is just in Staffordshire (map below).
Anyway, he's just been given 6 months in prison.

This was in the Times. What a fucking waste of money. Most of the comments are calling for a Covid amnesty.

Afternoon all, I'm still here, still reading, still despairing about some people's attitude.
I've noticed more mask wearing at work ( retail) but there's a lot of under- nose wearing which is pointless.
On the bright side, the tortoise is thriving, I'll post a picture later.

So it's not covid any more. It's respiratory infections.
That's coz they're not swabbing any more
My chiropractor has had the flu he was completely banjaxed by it. Two weeks flat out he said. I've no idea if flu is going to be bad this winter it may well be 😷

Hi all! Took me ages to find you again! Glad to see your all still here! Saw some names I recognised on other threads and had to have search for some positive vibes as my SAD is crap atm! You all were a massive support during the earlier days! Although I don't post much as can't deal with backlash! Your words and positivity really got me through! Xx

Hello. I have stumbled across this thread
What is AD
The ADs (Anti-Dementors) were a long runing series of threads through 2020/21 where we were critical of the narrative of the time of covid meaures and raised the wider (negative) consequences of many of them, and joy-sucking, unrealistic attitudes such as not going to be able to holiday abroad for years, or that going for a second walk of the day was spread the virus and going to result in the unnecessary killing of grannies. They were always interspersed with light relief deviations of conversation and some (much lacking at the time) humour.

There's another thing to worry about now StrepA. The fear is building. Our surgery yesterday said they were swamped with people wanting tests despite being short staffed due to covid. Facebook our health board posting out advice where to go for a test. It's a tsunami of fear 🙈
