anyone queuing to see the coffin in London atm?

I am wondering how long the queue is and how the organisation is working out. Are there enough toilets? Is it true that the wristband allows you to leave and come back?

The DCMS tracker doesn’t estimate time, just distance

Yes but if you just do

Distance/Speed=Time.

You'll get a general idea.

LibbyL92 · 14/09/2022 21:24

Just over 5 hours so far.
im close. I reckon another hour

Thats reasonable

LibbyL92 · 14/09/2022 21:27

It’s gone fairly quick.

Iusedtobecarmen · 14/09/2022 21:29

I will be delighted if I only have to wait 5 ish hours.

nonevernotever · 14/09/2022 21:30

Don't know how it compares, but I don't think Edinburgh went much above 6 hours waiting, and at 7am on Tuesday it was about ten minutes!

Iusedtobecarmen · 14/09/2022 21:32

Ten minutes.
Jesus.
I wish I'd perhaps made the effort to go to Edinburgh, but a bit harder and further to get to.

Saltyandvinegar · 14/09/2022 21:33

In Edinburgh someone queued for 7.5 hrs. Another 1.5 @6am. I'd be heading at 4/5 am.

Iusedtobecarmen · 14/09/2022 21:33

This is what i need ,actual time frames!!!!

idonotmind · 14/09/2022 20:52

What if you're asleep? Is overtaking allowed?

You don't sleep.
You can't take a sleeping bag or chair or anything and are expected to keep moving pretty much constantly.
Of course you can't overtake! If you could it wouldn't be a queue!
Think everyone has timed wristbands so it would be obviously if you started walking past everyone and got to the front 2 hours before the rest of your timeslot. Plus can't imagine people would just let you push past then!

VinoDino · 14/09/2022 21:40

I didn't queue at all in Edinburgh at 6.50am, was very very lucky.

UnshakenNeedsStirring · 14/09/2022 21:44

So many brain washed people waiting in the rain to see coffin of a rich lady. People have their priorities wrong

Mushroomlady · 14/09/2022 21:45

The excitement of a queue to see the Queen. I think we have reached peak British!

Its not raining
It is a gorgeous evening

Sandy89xx · 14/09/2022 21:56

Trust me if I could stand 30 hours in the rain to see my nan again I'd be there in a flash

TheRealityCheque · 14/09/2022 21:57

Group of 4 of us joined the queue at 4pm and got the timed wristbands sorted.

Waited a couple of minutes, and left for some refreshments.

Been for a mooch down Oxford Street, done the London Eye and a power boat trip up the Thames. Then had a quick Chinese buffet and just rejoined the queue with about 10-15 minutes left before we get to go in.

That's my kinda queueing.

😂 I'm assuming this is a joke?

DickDarstedly · 14/09/2022 22:01

-It’s not raining
-it’s a lovely evening
-close to our home
-lots of cameraderie
@UnshakenNeedsStirring
nothing wrong with my priorities. Kids have left home. Not working tomorrow. It sounds like quite a nice night out with DH if we take our favourite snacks. We’re on our way now.

Only if blue flag is waved .
Certainly not under waved double yellows

StealingYourWiFi · 14/09/2022 22:17
