What is the most beautiful place you've ever been?

Just returned recently from Croatia, and we visited Rovinj. We've travelled a fair bit, but Rovinj is hands down the most beautiful little place I've ever been.

I need to ditch the kids with Granny and head back for a child free weekend of wine bars and little patios over the yacht-filled sea.

Stunning.

Anyone else have any places that just felt truly spectacular?

Daintree rainforest in Queensland, it was like being in a dream!

Great thread OP. For me it would probably be the Whitsundays in Australia, stunningly beautiful.

Funnily enough I have been to Rovinj too, it is beautiful.

Banderas Bay in Mexico.

Pollensa in Mallorca, too. The town, not the beach resort. Beautiful.

Oh gosh. I just goigle image searched. Dh is revived by woodland. I reckon this would be his dream holiday.

Marseille and Santorini were both stunning but the number 1 has to be Central Park in the snow. Just amazing.

Te Urawera in New Zealand. Like the land before time. Idyllic.

The German alps.

I was also very taken with the coastline in Croatia.

And an agriturismo in Tuscany overlooking a sunflower field where the Milky Way was very visible every night.

Harris, for somewhere in the U.K.

The Scottish highlands. Amazingly beautiful.

Some of the lakes in Bavaria are stunning.
A friend lives in The French Alps and we visited one summer and we went up into the mountains to an off grid cabin , there was a stream we walked to. It was incredible

We spend a lot of time here and agree - stunning scenery. I think we are maybe slightly dulled to it due to the amount of time we spend there thought

• Washington DC in snow, proper snow
• Petra, Jordan in the right light
• Special place in Saltzburg, Austria which I won’t share!

So many places, but still so many to visit!

I absolutely loved Croatia and agree with PP about the Whitsundays off Queensland .

Having travelled a lot the place that is most beautiful is the west coast of Scotland. So many different but all amazing places.

But for something a bit different the Seoknamsa Temple in South Korea is pretty special.

I'm now jotting down places for future (dream) travels. The Whitsundays look incredible

Macchu Picchu. Yes, I'd seen lots of pictures, but it was still jaw-droppingly stunning.

It would have to be a toss up between Lake Como and Croatia.

Cook Islands - literally a dream of an island location - shame it’s sooo far away

Waking up in a tiny tent to the sun dawning over Lochan Fhada with not a soul but DH and I for miles. I close my eyes and I can still see it.
