Will it be Continuity Truss or "Socialist" Sunak in charge?

Beeb saying Truss will be doing her first PMQs tomorrow.
I bet she won’t turn up. “Too busy”.

Well this is a load of self serving twisted crap.

We can all sell a line. The thing that worries me is the people who buy it.

I thought his speech was very good, sincere, bit of humour. He's just so likeable isnt he. We can only hope he'll be advising behind the scenes.

At least it was too early for Steve Bray and his megaphone. The shouty mob obvs don't like an early start Grin.

DuncinToffee · 06/09/2022 08:40

Ah Bless, Janiie, the loveable rogue with messy hair, such an honest chap.

Such a brilliant PM. Ousted by a Cummings led media smear campaign screeching 'parties' or whatever else they could fling at him for 6mths.

DuncinToffee · 06/09/2022 08:45

Like we said, he is the victim, blameless, innocent Johnson.

Aw Duncin. Finally we agree!

DuncinToffee · 06/09/2022 08:47

I have seen reports that Sunak, Mordaunt, Sajid Javid and Robert Buckland all have turned down the job of NI Sec.

They don't trust Truss’ NIP Bill?

Piggywaspushed · 06/09/2022 08:47

As you may recall, Dorries is my MP. She is widely unpopular but the are will stay Conservative. I just hope mid Beds gets a decent MP out of this.

Most Tory papers supported him

His cabinet resigned around him and almost 50% of all tory MPs voted against him...why? because he is an electoral liability, a joke figure.

He was the author of his own downfall but i think you know this.

Well if it wasn't for those pesky woke lefties and Corbyn with their cake ambush, Johnson would be world king.

Now he just has to hope that Truss tends the pot plants in his absence.

Maybe all those removal lorries were the pot plants leaving?

Pobblebonk · 06/09/2022 08:50

From way back in the days when he was doing HIGNFY and becoming mayor I always found Johnson vaguely sleazy, and if anything that feeling intensified as he became more high profile. I do rather feel that if you find him likeable you really need to raise your standards.

I must say I would be proud of this satire. Well done.

According to Wikipedia , “ expended boosters are disassembled, refurbished and reloaded with solid propellant for reuse “.

And the Roman chap who went back to his plough returned to public life after a few years.

Just saying …….

Piggywaspushed · 06/09/2022 08:51

janiie, I recommend you read Chums.

Odd, I thought he was ousted because he badly mishandled a sexual abuse scandal and pushed his colleagues into telling a series of unconvincing lies about it, after which an unprecedentedly high number of ministers resigned saying they could not work with him. Did I imagine all that, @JaniieJones?

SueSaid · 06/09/2022 08:54

'From way back in the days when he was doing HIGNFY and becoming mayor I always found Johnson vaguely sleazy'

And yet crime fell when he was mayor despite you thinking he was 'sleazy' so, like when he was PM, he obviously knew what he was doing.

Anyone else wondering how Carrie is going to cope? Imagine having that under your feet all day trying to avoid doing any real work.

DuncinToffee · 06/09/2022 08:54

There are conflicted reports on Cincinnatus return

Can't imagine Johnson working, let alone a plough.

wonderstuff · 06/09/2022 08:57

Carrie’s dress- gorgeous, but a bit much for Balmoral?

That's an odd correlation. What do crime statistics several years ago have to do with his personal sleaziness? Look at his reaction to Pincher 's activities for a start.

DuncinToffee · 06/09/2022 08:59

That full facts article doesn't exactly hail him as a crime fighter.

These figures refer to crimes recorded by the Metropolitan Police. They exclude most fraud offences as, during this time, responsibility for recording fraud offences in London passed from the Metropolitan Police to the national fraud reporting service Action Fraud, and so, according to the ONS, “it is not possible to make meaningful year-on-year comparisons over this period.”

I’d be very surprised if she was going to Balmoral. She wouldn’t have gone to the palace with him.

So it was a outside Downing Street dress. Very pretty, looked like she’s off on holiday again, had tropical vibes.

the80sweregreat · 06/09/2022 09:10

Carrie looked lovely today I thought.
It can't be easy for her , but that's politics.
