From way back in the days when he was doing HIGNFY and becoming mayor I always found Johnson vaguely sleazy, and if anything that feeling intensified as he became more high profile. I do rather feel that if you find him likeable you really need to raise your standards.

And yet crime fell when he was mayor despite you thinking he was 'sleazy' so, like when he was PM, he obviously knew what he was doing.
