Will it be Continuity Truss or "Socialist" Sunak in charge?

Fantastic, thanks for new thread Smile

Lonelycrab · 02/09/2022 11:56

Checking in and thanks for the new thread. Almost there now after months of this navel gazing bollocks, wasn’t the delay just so Johnson could say he’d “beaten” May for days in office? Probably something equally childlike. I guess it was all a game to him in the first place.

And aren’t they all buggering off for conference season in a couple weeks too?

Notonthestairs · 02/09/2022 12:40

Yep Conference Recess begins 17th September. Prepare for lots of self congratulatory speeches.

You read my mind! I have literally just come on here to link that. I think it is really useful because we forget a lot of the awful things that he did

I can't quite believe you think Cummings is a reputable source regarding 'security concerns'

Allegations about security breaches should be investigated regardless of the source or the party in Govt.

What if they are true?

Bit like the allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse at the highest levels of Govt, should they be dismissed because they have been made by ex employees?

Notonthestairs · 02/09/2022 15:38

The reference to lax security measures came out as a result of the Sue Gray "investigation". I don't think they were wholly attributable to Cummings.

Regardless they should have been reviewed especially as Johnson apparently conducted job I/vs in the flat.

An ex-burglar is in a unique position to advise on home security, that doesn’t mean that their claims are taken on trust but does indicate that their input is worthy of further scrutiny.

thanks for the new thread @Notonthestairs Brew

Absolutely it was redacted in the SG report. It sounds like Carrie and her gayboys (her words, not mine) had pin codes and access to wherever they wanted to go. As was shown on the previous thread, security was basically non existent. I've linked again.

Agree.

Came on to add a comment like that from other thread but instead will just agree with yours.

I expect it to be investigated even if the cleaner reported it.

If it turns out to be false - no harm done.

If it's true and isn't investigated ........ that's scary.

Pippa Crerar

Boris Johnson making most of final days in office

🎉instructs taxpayer funded lawyer to help him wriggle out of - or at least discredit - Partygate inquiry

🧑‍⚖️ installs Harry Mount, editor of book on “Wit and Wisdom of Boris Johnson”, to committee that vets peerages

Now this..

Boris Johnson has appointed his acting chief of staff, Baroness Simone Finn, as the Conservative member of the Committee on Standards in Public Life

Thank you!

What larks await.

Notonthestairs · 02/09/2022 17:06

Johnson just loves his unelected bureaucrats. I wonder what other announcements will be made before Monday. You see he can "work" if he wants to!

The Committee on Standards in Public Life:
• The Committee on Standards in Public Life (CSPL) is an independent advisory non-departmental public body that advises the Prime Minister on ethical standards across the whole of public life in the UK. It conducts broad inquiries, collecting evidence to assess institutions, policies and practices and makes recommendations to the Prime Minister where appropriate.
• The Committee promotes the Principles of Public Life, which outline the ethical standards those working in the public sector are expected to adhere to. The Principles apply to all public office holders and private and voluntary organisations delivering services paid for by public funds.

Have they had such a person for the last few years?

If they have where have they been?

Or why have they advised the government to act as they have?

In years to come most of us will look back with a sense of shame at these last three years. The worst Prime Minister in this country's history, and you have to go back to Oliver Cromwell to find a worse leader on these shores.

I won’t feel any shame at all. I didn’t vote for them.

Pah! Tell us the important stuff. Who's the new interior decorator at No 10 and how much prole tax will they be spaffing up the wall?
