Will it be Continuity Truss or "Socialist" Sunak in charge?

I’ve ceased to be surprised by anything they do, let alone shocked. When they kicked off their term by proroguing parliament and booting 19 of their sanest MPs out of the party they hit my shock threshold. Nothing they do now has much effect on me. Arrogant bunch of born to rule bastards.

the80sweregreat · 05/09/2022 21:01

My only hope now is they will continue to tear themselves apart.

Notonthestairs · 05/09/2022 21:33

Yes I suppose it's not a surprise. Of course they'd waste time selecting a candidate that will be blocked whilst there are only a few days of Parliament before Conference Recess. It's not like they should be getting on with anything.

Argh.

Small relief to see the back of Patel and Dorries although their replacements aren't much to celebrate. Still, 2 down. Bye ladies, it's been, different. Don't rush back.

DuncinToffee · 05/09/2022 23:21

Dorries is heading to the HOL

By-election coming up in her constituency

She knew her job wasn't safe.

Jumping ship!

I would be jumping for you at the news if it wasn't for the fact Braverman is likely to get it.

She's just the same.

No, she's worse, because she's thicker.

the80sweregreat · 06/09/2022 06:27

Who is getting to become the education minister ?

the80sweregreat · 06/09/2022 06:38

How long before Boris Johnson starts on Ms Truss ? I give till next week!

Roussette · 06/09/2022 06:42

So glad to see the back of Dorries, I knew more about her job than she did, she was very ignorant. And cow eyes at BJ was nauseating. At least Channel4 will be safe for now. Both Sunak and Truss said they had no plans for it.
She's gone off to write more puerile books and may well lose her seat in time

the80sweregreat · 06/09/2022 06:44

Nadine Dorries will probably pen another novel about unrequited love for a Prime minister , but not based on her own life of course.

It is a relief.

Also is showing how much they totally supported Johnson and how much their really is a split down the middle of the party right now as the votes showed.

Oh god, we've got another Johnson farewell speech again. I thought he did that. Will Dorries start weeping? She's just walked out with Rachel Johnson.

I dread to think what he'll say.

She achieved 59.8% of the vote in 2019. With significant numbers voting both Labour and Lib Dem. If there is a by-election, will the good people of mid Bedfordshire swing behind one of them?

"EXCLUSIVE FULL DETAILS OF TRUSS’S ENERGY PLAN *

— she will set a fixed unit price for energy suppliers to sell gas & electricity to households

— along with green levy cut this will freeze average bills at current level

— costs ~£130bn over 18 months"

Nadine Dorried looked like she was about to cry while she was waiting for Johnson to come down.

Novum · 06/09/2022 07:33

The nauseating thing is that Dorries will draw her minister's pension plus pocketing House of Lords allowances for continuing to do fuck all that's of any use to anyone. No doubt she'll be on Strictly next year.

Roussette · 06/09/2022 07:35

Ye gods. Johnson lies lies and lies again. 40 new hospitals by the end of 2030? 14,000 new police officers (so we are now down 6,000 as they got rid of 20,000).
Usual stuff.
He is calling himself a booster rocket. It's like an open mic moment at the local comedy club

itsgettingweird · 06/09/2022 07:36

Well this is a load of self serving twisted crap.

We can all sell a line. The thing that worries me is the people who buy it.

Notonthestairs · 06/09/2022 07:39

"This is it folks… I’ll soon be passing on the baton in what has unexpectedly become a relay race. They changed the rules half way through, but never mind that now.”

You'd never think he'd agitated to get rid of Theresa May would you?

He is a victim.

Of his own horrific ego.

DuncinToffee · 06/09/2022 08:22

Well if it wasn't for those pesky woke lefties and Corbyn with their cake ambush, Johnson would be world king.

Now he just has to hope that Truss tends the pot plants in his absence.
